Is there a legal age in the US when people can begin hormones?

18 is the age, but even if a parent or guardian signs off on it, the earlier most doctors will start HRT is 16. Anything prior to that, puberty blockers is what is used until the age of 16.

I think this actually depends more on how far you are along in puberty. I was never on blockers, but I started T when I was 15 because I was already pretty much done with puberty at that point. I suppose it could be different if you're MtF, but I don't really see why it would. I'm sure it depends on your doctor too, but it is possible in some cases to start hrt before then.
