Hi all, i started this new thread mainly for people who've gotten (unfortunately) UTI before and also as a helpful read for those planning to have SRS.
I've never had UTI in my life. But at 1 month post-op i got it. It worries me that this is going to be a recurrent issue i have to face for life (like many cis women do).
I've read my fair share of the causes, symptoms, and treatments yadda yadda...I'm not expecting a medical opinion or anything just trying my luck to see if anyone had similar experiences.
And so, I was put initially on 5 days antibiotics. During follow up at about 4th day, my GP said there were no more red blood cells (via a dipstick urine test) and it was a good sign - that the antibiotics was 'working'. But still, he said i shouldn't be having white blood cells in my urine.
He prescribed an additional 3 days of the same course. I went for my follow up again and today he said there are traces of both white AND RED blood cells again. The strange thing is i do not have symptoms (frequent urination, hot/burning sensation) anymore. Thus he suggested that I wait for 1 week to see him again.
While this is not life-threatening as of now, it just bothers me a lot when i know a part of me is not healthy/going well. I'm not sure if this implies a bigger problem (bladder/kidney) or its just the remnants of the bacteria from the infection and i probably need a stronger antibiotics to flush everything out?
I'll know in 1 week but meanwhile please share any thoughts! The thought of a kidney infection/being hospitalised is really something i don't want to go through!
