My mom is coming to visit me in college.  I have to hide my binder because if she sees it, I know that she'll confiscate it.  So wearing a binder is out of the question for me the next few days.  I feel super self conscious in public if I'm not binding.  Is there any alternative that isn't ace bandages?

Might I recommend a tight sports bra? It sucks but it's worse having your binder taken away.

layers

seriously, layers are the only thing i can think of right now - i'm a kind of bigchested dude, and when i can't bind for reasons, i just wear a lot of layers - of course it doesn't give the same effect as a "proper binder", and it may be pretty warm, but yeah

maybe a tight-ish tanktop, with a t-shirt on top, then a hoodie over, and a zip-zap(idk what they're called - kind of like a cardigan??) hoodie over that hoodie

Sports bra, and layers.

I have to wonder though if you live away from your mom, and are an adult (guessing based on the fact that you are away at college) why is she dictating what you can and can't wear and going so far as to confiscate your clothing she deems unacceptable?

She thinks that it's unhealthy, but it's not like I wear it for several hours straight.  I only wear it in public.

A simple one that used to work for me to a certain extend was wearing 2 tight fitting tshirts (baby tees) and then on top of that a baggy zippered sweatshirt/hoodie.
I am male because I say so and nothing more.
I don't have to look or act like one therefore.

So she knows your trans? Could always pull the ill stop wearing the binder once I have surgery.

What ever works best for you, tight sports bra, tight t-shirts maybe 2, and bra vest mine doesn't have any cups and has wide shoulder straps more like a sleeveless tight shirt.  You can't say how large you are as that makes a different as to what will work for you.  Good luck with however you go.

bigger chest: get a bigger hoodie, wear a sports bra a size too small, and a tank top then whatever you're going to wear.
