Got a call from my therapist yesterday.  She had bad news for me.  She is moving to another practice, further away, and called me just to say she didn't want me to be surprised at our last meeting, which is on Halloween.
I told her how sorry I was, that I would miss her, but she needed to make moves to progress in her career.     I reminded her too, that it was Halloween that we were meeting, and I didn't want HER to be surprised, but I was going to dress as a girl.
She just laughed, and laughed.

Sigh....goodbye, Dr _______

Hugs. I lost my first one when she retired. Fortunately I found another who was pretty darn good too.

I can relate, I lost my therapist also.  Good luck in finding a new one.

:( I had to find a new therapist to go to while I am in college. I just found one today after finally winning the therapist lottery this morning (calling and hoping to schedule an appointment before its filled up). luckily once you win you don't have to call every week, so now I just schedule new appointments with my therapist directly.

Best of luck in finding a new one as awesome as the old one  ;)

Thanks, all.  Today was our last appointment, and it was bittersweet.  I will miss her a great deal.  She has a big, open heart, and I'm certain lots of people will benefit from it.

I've never had one....and I'm not sure what they do over there? we have a different system in the U.K and we don't really have any therapists for Gender Dysphoria..

I thought I was going to lose mine when she went into the hospital for cancer treatment, but she's still working.
