Hi all,
I just had my 2nd session last Friday and the lady turned the energy UP! It hurt a lot more and I smelled burnt hair. I almost freaked out. I had to have her stop often due to tears and pain but I went thru with it.
I can tell a difference now. The hair seems to return very slowly in areas where the dormant follicles are coming alive (Hence it's why the sessions are spread 6 weeks apart).

I ended up paying $1600 so not too bad. Once big name place wanted $10,000. Yes 10k. I got the free lip balm they give you and out the door I went lol.

I plan on putting the numbing cream on closer to the time frame next time and I WILL use pain meds, which I didn't the second time there. Lesson learned.

But in the end, the pain means progress. :)

I smelt burning hair today too. An all too familiar smell since I am a pyrotechnicist as well and you sometimes don't get a show going according to plan lol.

I paid 700$ for 12 sessions.  So far I've had my 4th.  The results are pretty good so far.  Basically I see a bunch of patches where there is no hair, but the chin and upper lip area are the toughest, although, there are big areas where there is no hair.  Mostly the sides of my face and neck are clear, just shadow left on the upper lip and chin, although it doesn't look symmetrical any longer.  The tech has definitely turned up the power a lot and when she hits my chin it really hurts!  However, when she does the upper lip area, it doesn't seem to do nearly as much, so it seems some hairs are easier to get than others.

Any advice on getting upper lip hairs?

When she starts on the upper lip or even the lower lip area, put your tongue between your lip and gums, it seems to help.
On my next visit I will use the numbing creme I have 30 mins prior instead of 90 mins and Ibuprofen probably 45 mins prior. I will go in prepared for my 3rd time.
Hope this helps.
And more advice from other Ladies is greatly welcome.

I use naproxen even though it's bad for me (sodium). More effective than ibuprofen which is weak for me and I have a script for a fairly high amount.
