Hey guys, Riley here.

This was one of the first threads I checked out when I get here, and I was hoping I could get a little help.

I'm pretty happy with how I'm passing, I'm 14 months T so I'm safe most of the time. The problem is I've got this mop of hair..

.. and I honestly have no idea what to do with it.

Anyhow, any opinions on the hair situation and on my passing in general would be sweet and greatly appreciated. :)

Cheers all,

You might be able to pull something like this off  http://menshairstylesguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Shaggy-Messy-Hairstyles-for-Men-in-2014.jpg

But i'd second the undercut(i think its one of the 'in' things nowadays)

Thank you very much, that's always a great thing to hear. :)

I a had an undercut going on for a few years before T, and I always kind of just thought my face was too short and round, but perhaps it may be time to give it another go.

Also, thank you so much for thank link. I've never actually seen this guide before, it's really good.

Glad I helped. I didn't think an undercut would suit me bcos my face is also round,  but it actually works. There are so many styles of undercut, you just have to go to a good barber who knows what will suit you best. About your chosen hairstyle idea, it's a bit 'out there' but haven't seen that hairatyle on anyone before. Post a pic if you get it done  :)

@Lunarwings
I can style my hair like that at the moment with a lot of patience and product, aha. My hair just hates product, I've never found anything that will actually hold it.

In Australia, it is hard to find a male between the age of 10 and 20  that DOESN'T have an undercut..

@Elis
I'm hoping that since I've been on T a while that will help. My mother pointed out to me just before that an undercut would suit me a lot better now simply because I've lost 30 kilos (I forgot about that part oops). As for the level of 'out there', my style in itself is on the punk side, so it's suitable when you match it to who I am. :)

And of course, I'll definitely share a picture after I get it done . :)

I really like gatsby hair products, they seem to work well with thick hair and such.(not sure which part of Aus you're from but usually here you can get them at Asian grocery stores, or Asian hair salons)  Also I know exactly what you mean by everyone in Oz having an undercut. I'm on the Gold Coast and everywhere I look someone's sporting one lol.

Thanks for that tip, I'm not sure if we have an asian grocery (we've got an African grocery) but I'll keep an eye out. :)
I think by the end of this year there won't be anyone without an undercut!

how did you lose 30kg o__o

I'm thinking it was a combination of my HRT and moving out of home for six months.

Hey there!

I am pre everything and I'm kind of short and cute looking. But that can be a good thing! I don't particularly pass very well yet, but I am very pleased with this recent photo and I wanted to know what you guys think.

Hi M->-bleeped-<-ie, you look very androgynous in that photo but I think you'll pass well if you eventually medically transition. Your clothes and hair look good.

You'd pass. I've seen young men with round faces before. It would help to have a little stubble, but that can't be faked. People come in all shapes and sizes. What is more important than looks is how you act. Being comfortable in your male gender is part of what will, in large part determine what others see.

Thanks guys! I will be medically transitioning eventually. I have my first appointment on the 24th of April, so we'll have to see how it goes.

Hey M->-bleeped-<-ie, sharp outfit! You look good, maybe tighten up the haircut a little. The style looks good on you but I bet if it was closer on the back and sides it would look even more masculine. You've also got great eyebrows (which I seem to be obsessing about lately). Definitely on the right track. ;D

Honestly you've got a perfect canvas dude you don't pass right now cause of pre t but like I said canvas is perfect. I'd say 6months on T you'd pass perfectly. The clothes and hair look fine you're good congrats :)

As a general rule, F to Ms look younger than they are. It can be annoying at times, even embarrassing. People used to think I was a teenager when I was 30. When I look at pictures of myself back then, I did look considerably younger.

When you start taking T, one of the side effects I was told by the endocrinologist was water weight gain. The rounding of the face tends to soften it, making it look more feminine. If you can, let a little scruff grow, that will help.

From the pictures I have seen here, I think I agree that most FTM's tend to appear younger than their actual age - That is one of the things I secretly wished for with my transition!  Unfortunately, for me, it is not the case :(  I started getting Gray hair in my late 20's.  Now that I am 50 - I think I look at least 50 :(  Maybe some day I will be brave enough to post a pic??

Hey guys, Its been a month now since I've been on T. not too much of an improvement but hell my voice really helps me pass and ive gotten skinnier. I decided to try skinny jeans again and noticed they really help. How am I looking now? yay or nay?

Also, how old do I look?

Oh good grief and gravy M->-bleeped-<-ie, you are one good lookin' dude. And snazzy outfit I have to say!
Where'd you get it? :D Loving that coat.
And as everyone else is saying, you'll be good to go the moment you start medically transitioning, you have a fantastic canvas to work from, and already look pretty damn masculine. I think the only thing that might be throwing it off for me is the longer haircut.

And I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but you remind me of Gerard Way right now! The lead singer of my chemical romance. He has that lovely squared off jawline, coupled with the slightly longer hair, and that super strong intense eyebrow game.
I wonder what you'll look like after you start T!

-----

BlueGemFox you look great! Very handsome~ You strike me as a junior/senior in highschool, perhaps freshman in college. so around the 17-20 range. This might have something to do with the clothing choices as well though, so I can't say 100% based on face appearance.
But you look good in those skinny jeans, and I'd say pass. If your voice is becoming masculine too, it's a definite pass.
