My appointment is the beginning of February! Woo!

Does anybody know how long it will be to start HRT?

I've already come out, already live full time etc. I'm changing my name after my exams in July.

You'll have an assessment period of appointments. Which is a minupimum of 2 and at the third one is the earliest you will be accepted into the pathway.this period can take from anywhere from 3 to 6 months depending on the availability of the consultants. it can be more appointments, but being as you are already full time and all, they will consider that and probably accept you at that time . Once you're accepted in the pathway you're officially "diagnosed" and treatment and timelines might be given to you (including the start of your hormone therapy). Once you're actually under treatment by the GIC, things seem to happen much faster. Best luck to you! Exciting times indeed!!

How did it go?  And how long did you wait to get your first appointment?

Laws change from state to state and country to country. I would think that you will feel much better once things are underway. When I started, you had to "pass" for at least two years before anything could be done, and six months of therapy before HRT could be initiated.

With the exception of the surgeon who did my chest, all medical profesional  I dealth with were virgins as far as working with transgenders. Because of that, I got around the rules significantly faster than I would have otherwise. I did have a 7 hour interview with a psychologist in another state to make sure I knew what was happening and to differentiate between body dysmorphia and true gender dysphoria. That was brutal.

Don't let anyone deter you from your goal. You deserve to have a happy, comfortable life.
