I just started Prometrium about a week ago and it's been pretty good so far!   

Before I started Prometrium I read all the side effects and figured what to expect, however I haven't gotten any side effects at all.

Within 30 - 45 minutes of taking it, I notice a rush of euphoric/drunken tipsiness/calming effect that it has on me, which normally lasts for about 45 mins - 1 hr. I guess the perfect way to describe is like a euphoric tipsiness, but much calmer and I am fully aware of what I am doing, function correctly, etc. I knew to expect this but I never realized how amazing it felt. I haven't gotten any PMS symptoms at all (maybe due to the short time I have taken it). I also notice I have been falling asleep easily at night and that's coming from an insomniac on most nights. In addition, I get the most vivid dreams at night on Prometrium and they feel real, and I always remember my dreams when I wake up, which I read some people also experience. It's so cool!

But so far so good! I did notice a little more breast tenderness than usual (which is already super sore as is), but haven't really seen any mood/breast changes--too early to tell I reckon. I will update with more info as I take it longer and eventually up my dosage. But I'm loving it so far! 

I still get the rush almost a year after starting progesterone and I love it!

I wish more Endo's would incorporate Progesterone. It has been wonderful for me.

Those kinds of experiences make it sound like Progesterone is really worth trying.

I've declined so far to ask for it, after being worried about the potential side effects* (heart disease, pulmonary embolism, cancer), and not finding any studies that prove it helps in the breast department.  It's kind of hard to make a case to the Endo without some positive facts.

My biggest worry is that it's converted into Testosterone (which might explain why some say it improves the libido?), by the 17α-hydroxylase and 17β-HSD enzymes:

Progesterone -> Hydroxyprogesterone -> Androstenedione -> Testosterone

Has anyone noticed any negative side effects from it?

Where I go My Primary care sees a lot of trans, probably 90% or more. They have 10 doctors, PA-C's and Nurse Practitioners and they are very busy and they prescribe progesterone.

You should read more published papers that clearly show an effect of progesterone on breast tissue AND read up on the differences between progesterone and progestins (i.e. Provera) which are often associated with negative side-effects such as increased breast cancer incidence, embolism, heart attack. The more you know, the stronger the case you build.

I'm on a high dose of progesterone and have no androgenic effects to speak off. In fact, quite the opposite. My hairline has improved, body hairs are finer and grow slower.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but can I ask how bad your hairline was to start?

Just curious because: 1)I have the common "M" shaped hairline, and 2)My endo is going to prescribe me a progesterone and up my estrogen dose soon (that's in addition to the finasteride and 5% minoxidil that I'm already using.) I'm keeping my fingers crossed. 

My hairline was pretty good, barely any hair loss to talk about but now much more feminine in appearance, convex shape. 

I take estrogen IM, progesterone, finasteride and spiro and twice a day minoxidil 5%, LLLT every other day and micro dermal roll. I was pretty thin on top. I have had good results with hair regrowth in 95% of the once bald areas. The regrowth varies from thin to not thick. I am going to inquire about a far head reduction on the 23rd, then graphs.

I was on Prometrium 5 years. No ill side effects.
