Quite a while ago, I ran into some information on grants for transgenders who could not afford surgery on their own. I wish now that I could remember where online I saw it. Has anyone else run into this?

I am male because I say so and nothing more.
I don't have to look or act like one therefore.

There are a couple but they are very hard to get,few grants and many applicants. You need to write and essay on why you deserve it. I'm trying to remember the names of them now.

This is the famous one: http://jimcollinsfoundation.org/ Good luck! You could probably get help with your essay here on the site.

If the grants are few, I won't try to get one. I'm lucky to have what I have, and the generation after me is younger and have more time. It seems only fair that they get it.

No, you should try! You're as deserving as anyone else, and besides, the more need that is shown, the better the chances of the program growing.

I applied to the Jim Collins one for 2014, but sadly, I did not win a scholarship.  :(

I'm not sure if we have any surgeons in the area who do transgender surgeries. I moved states after my transition, and there seem to be less Dr.s who are listed as transgender friendly. At my age, I don't need major changes, just a couple asthetic improvements.
