As many of you ladies know, I posted a thread a few days ago about me not taking hormones for a few days. That thread got a little spicy and as such locked (called it!) so since I am unable to update that one with what happened to me, i'll do it here in this new thread.

First of all I was very worried, since I never went off hormones for such a long time after 3+ years of HRT. I thought the effects of going off would be minimal for me at best but BOY was I wrong (pun intended). I think my androgen levels went up significantly, canceling out any estrogen levels at all...

1. Voice. I was getting very anxious around people and lost my voice. It became a much deeper growl if you know what i mean. People had no idea what I was talking about on my vacation (Except my pilot, thank god someone could continue to communicate with me like everything was normal).

2. Hair. I did a lot of laser and electrolysis when I started all over my body and was pretty much done however after only 4 days without HRT I have hair all over my face and body again, dark brown hair. Disgusting. The lady at the toll booth thought I was scary! Im going to nair it off ASAP and start laser/electrolysis all over again. I can't believe this actually happened smdh

3.Height. A lot of people claim to get shorter when they start HRT and I never personally believed them. Maybe they we're old and shrinking anyways? iuno. But after 4 days off hormones, wow, I actually grew and A LOT. I now tower over my peers easily. I have to buy new clothes now that flatter me better.

4. Different taste in music. Maybe the mental effects were as great as the physical. I no longer care for Genesis, Pink Floyd, etc. I can only listen to mid 90s Eurodance now. Strange.

Overall I am starting this thread as a warning for people to never forge their hormones at home EVER... the consequences are significant. Heres a selfie of what I look like now

Do I still pass? I think a quick shave and some refresh voice lessons will do me some good.

Cousin it, lol.
Saw a dog like that in the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Wanted to get one and name it appropriately.

Did you really have significant effects? I'm sure everyone's different but tell us how you really fared, Missy.

I'm pretty sure this is tongue in cheek. Has to be.

I realized that, it was all a leadup to the wookie joke, but I'm still curious as to how she faired. I barely made with through one night without spiro or estrogen. I was a wreck by morning, but that might have not been physical.

lol. Really, though, I hope it wasn't too tough on you, Missy. I'd be so scared if I had to go off of hormones for any length of time.

I've been unable to have my t blocker for three months now (thank you VERY much charing cross),  I spoke to my best, most trusted friend last night, she was the first person I came out to and for the first few months she spent many hours each week on the phone reassuring me that I hadn't screwed my life up and that things would work out (that's how much I trust and owe her).
I described my emotional rollercoaster from the last few months, mher response was "damn girl, you've had PMS for three months!!"

Going without any part of your hrt is really unpleasant

This thread is a riot, and I hope more people can see it! Needing to go off hormones for any length of time can be stressful, but effects won't reverse overnight. It may be good for some people to see the light side of this, if they're worried.

Other Dee! I can't speak for the OP, but I'll add my recent experience. Picked up a pack of cigarettes for the first time in a while, and thankfully, my body kept rejecting it. But I decided the current wave of quitting should include a brief detox of HRT. DVT paranoia. It's been about a week, but the only noticeable effect is that I've been more emotional than usual- leaning more towards easily agitated and grumpy, which you could chalk up to the nic withdrawal as well. I'm pretty sure it's a bit of both. But yes, I'll confirm, beyond wookie punch-lines, there isn't anything to worry about when you're off HRT for a few days!

Jayne said it- it's PMS!

It is PMS, but I already had steady years of that while my testes were shutting down naturally before I realized I'm trans. Who needs that again? :D

Not having my t blocker didn't make me look like a wookie but I should have a warning sign around my neck that I may rip arms off if I lose a game of space chess!!

Missy,

I think everyone can relate to missing their medication.

I don't mind pms , it just means I'm getting the full experience for my entrance fee but three months is a bit much.
The other day I burst into tears for no reason and within an hour or two I was decidedly homicidal, my dog refused to enter the same room as me for most of the day
