Sideburns, what do I do with them?

So I have some thick sideburns. Well, had. I shave them all the way to the middle of my ears now.

But I was watching a few pics of cis women and they actually don't have any hair there and it's kinda thin and wispy and some don't have hair all the way to almost the top of their ears.

What do you do?

BTW even when getting guy haircuts nobody seemed to know what to do with mine.

I had the same thing, but mine kinda thinned out. Im still mostly running around in guy mode right now, and someone even pointed out in confusion recently that my sideburn area now has more of a female characteristic.

Ask your laser technician if she can make your sideburns thin and wispy like cis women. Mine offered to do so on my initial visit, and I didn't even have to ask. They look so natural now, and I'm extremely happy with the result.

I got my electrologist to reshape them. It's a tricky thing because you want the remove the hairs that would never grow very long, and keep the hairs that are more part of your head hair that will grow.

try to follow this line, from the point where your ear touches your head, to the corner of the eye. As you will go through 5+ laser sessions, you will have some regrowth coming back, and you will be able to decide if/or how much of that thin regrown hair would you like to keep. Don't go much over that line, other than maybe a little reduction, because you'll maybe want a facelift some 20 years from now, and not having hairline too high there, might save you the cost of hairtransplant.

I started to get rid of them at my facial hair removal sessions, it seems to be effective so far, but I'm not finished.

Some of it is determined by racial characteristics, I know a young woman of Indian (west Asia) background who has a lot of wispy hair down the side of her face, and have seen similar in other women from the region. My electrologist said she would "feather" my hair in that area (that is, a soft edge rather than a hard sharp line common in male haircuts, looks similar to that pic posted above) - she's had a lot of experience with trans women over the years and I have to say the look is totally spot on.

I was actually going to ask my electro to start doing something about them this week, it seems like they make it difficult to move into a more feminine hairstyle, in addition to just not belonging there.

I looked at my mom's pics too. We are both of Asian Indian ethnicity although her family traces back to Punjab whereas my dad is more Kolkata and Bengal. (She's fairer than my dad, and me!) I have seen women with thick sideburns but I don't like the look at all.

I have a 5 blade razor with electric razor on the other side. I shape and shave the area with the electric razor first then use regular razor to smooth things out. Each day upkeep the area with the regular razor.

My electrologist took care of them in my first session when she cleared both my cheeks. Now I will never have to have my sides trimmed. Can't wait until I never buy another face razor again. I'd think laser would do the same. You could always mention it at your next appointment.

I was going to mention side burns at one of my electrolysis appointments. Presently I shave them to the top of my ear as shown in the pic.

When I was in my early 20s and in fierce denial, I actually grew and styled my sideburns.

Now through the magic of electrolysis, I have none and never will, and in their place a nice, small V shape of tapered hair in front of my ears. Looks almost perfectly cis to me.
