Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone had tips on being depression-free during the wait time.
I can't afford lower surgery immediately but plan on doing so in 1 - 2 years.

How do you guys manage the lower dysphoria? I feel like it's impacting my quality of life.. and also, I feel like I can't really start life until after I've completed the surgery. I know that's normal (why else would I need the surgery).. but I fear that if I get into major depression about it I won't be able to work enough to save up for surgery.

I always had this was of thinking that I would never let my transsexuality limit my life in any Way, sure I felt dysphoric at time but I promised myself I'll never let it get in the way from me living like any other guy. Before I had bottom surgery I didnt pack but I wouldn't let it limit me or get to me so I went to the beach and undressed with other guys in locker rooms and stuff like that, I have never let it limit my sex life either and I think that all of that helped me alot because I that made me feel more like every other guy and by me doing that I didnt think about the fact that I hadn't had bottom surgery yet.

Once you have your chest done, you look pretty normal and can move around in the summer without a shirt. If you think of the situations where your groin would be exposed, there are very few. Unless you are planning on taking a shower in a gym with other guys, there really isn't another situation where you would be exposed. (I'm not counting a relationship as you would probably have told her anyway).

A couple of years seems like forever when you are waiting, but its really not that long. The feeling of not being complete is something that some transmen feel while others are perfectly happy with never having the bottom surgery done at all. Its one of those situations where you just have to go from day to day. Get into some lifting or or other stereotypical male activities and that may help you feel less caught in the middle while you wait.
