Aside from using the correct pronouns and grammar depending on the language you speak? (in latin languages, it does count A LOT)

I would say to not worry about that and be yourself. You don't have to play a character. The society is very found of heteronormative/gender-binary rules.
Just be yourself. 

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much, cis guys tend to call everyone "gay" or a "girl" out of habit, because those are things that traditional heteronormative society tends to view as lesser in the eyes of the "almighty, straight cis male." Just be yourself and the rest will follow.

don't worry about it, as a gamer I assure you that's pretty normal.

When I went for my interview and evaluation for transition, the psychologist went over the test results and why they pointed to a male and not a female. The speech pattern and word choice was one. I had to draw a person and I drew a guy. she told me that people tend to draw the gender they identify with when asked to draw a generic person. she took me for a walk and noted the way I moved. All these things she told me AFTER she was done.

That said, if you are gaming, you are in a competitive situation, and insults are thrown out. Guys that are either chauvanistic or homophobic would consider  "gay" or you being a girl as a comic insult. Don't worry about it. They have probably been called that by others.

If you were using a voice chat while you were gaming they may have picked up on your voice if you aren't on T yet and it hasn't lowered. If you were using a text chat it could be any number of things like using a lot of emoticons, not responding well to their jokes or trolling. A lot of times in multiplayer games, especially the fps ones, there are immature players who will pick up on one little thing you did or said then troll the hell out of you for it to try to throw you off your game.

I wouldn't worry about it too much but it may be a cool little social experiment if you pin point exactly what they're picking up on, if anything.

I love hearing about your experience with mental health professionals when it comes to gender transition.  So antiquated (the walking bit)!  Fascinates the hell out of me!

I would be so curious to know if her thinking on transsexualism diverged from John Money, Ph.D. at all after she stopped working with him and was in her own practice.  He believed that gender was a learned behavior.  He is famous for the "John/Joan" case.

bro/man/dude are common 'cis' phrases, though girls use them as well.

I've got to phone people quite a bit at work, and even if they've had an email from me first, they tend to assume my name can't be what they thought it was when they hear me speak. So, so annoying. I'm just hoping hormones will change it once I get on them. I really can't be bothered with having to think before I speak all the time again! Wouldn't read too much into it in that kind of environment though - they were probably just trying to put you off.

Unless I use my real name and/or state somehow that I am female, I usually get gendered as male in thee game world. The only thing I can think of is that female-oriented players (regardless of physical gender) tend to be more group oriented or express more emotion - even in writing - than male-oriented players. Another one is those players that use more emotes in-game might get seen as more feminine, since the stereotypical guy only wants to fight, and not interact with emotes. Just personal experience and guessing really since I like story based gaming where you create a character and write the stories first-hand (text based not graphics based).

That's something that comes natural for me atleast, know when it comes to texting and stuff, don't say lol alot and don't use alot of emojis as someone else said the only time I use alot of emojis is when I am flirting with bae, it does make flirting funner.

That happens to me a lot in online chats, too. People tend to assume that I'm female even though I state otherwise. I don't get it.

I still think that we missed some important behaviors or jokes used frequently from males, particually young men, because schools tend to split of locker rooms which than lowers our knowledge of specific male jokes and behaviors. They can be picked up on, and as you get older those same jokes etc. become less frequently used. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Who knows, maybe in another decade, we will be able to transition as early as well know what is going on.

I've accidentally misgendered people while gaming. One friend in particular was a cis guy but all I had to go by was his username which was pretty gender neutral and something about the way he interacted in the chat just seemed bubbly and sort of feminine so for the longest time I thought he was actually female playing a male character. My girlfriend and I sort of became friends with him outside of gaming and I learned he was a cis guy. So don't worry, I doubt it has anything to do with being trans.
