I just want to know from various peoples experiences regarding any SRS  surgeries.  I find this odd but is it common/normal for another person(nurse/anesthesiologist/etc.. basically anyone OTHER than the surgeon themselves) to be there to see you upon awakening from anesthesia?  Is it OK for them to leave before you even come to your senses?
I am male because I say so and nothing more.
I don't have to look or act like one therefore.

Yes. I didn't see my surgeon until the next day.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Every time I ever went under (4x) I woke up in the recovery room with all the bells and whistles still attached.

Staff around checking up on you as needed. As for doctors, some stick around some are busy doing other surgeries the same day so.....

You are not thrown in a dark room if that is what your are worried about.

Well unless you go to a back alley doctor then that could happen.

I don't know how it is after SRS but when I had my breast augmentation I woke up very confused in a room with lot of others women around still sleeping I was so asleep that I asked if they were all dead and the a sister said they wore sleeping and I asked did they make my augmentation and lot of other stupid questions it is very funny to remember it, but just after the operation they wake us up but we just don't remember.

I saw my surgeon a few hours later, and maybe 2 or 3x more over the following couple days.

It's kinda how healthcare works.  Once you make it out of surgery you usually go into a recovery area staffed by nurses.  You can wake up quick or slowly so its unlikely the doctors will be there.  When I had ffs I woke up a little disoriented since it was a different room and somebody by me was moaning. The nurse said hello let me get my bearings a bit and made sure I was alright.  Doctors are expensive which is why they don't do the menial tasks when you go in to visit.  Instead, its the nurses doing the smaller things.  If you are staying in the hospital though I would expect a check in sometime during the day just to make sure you really are doing well.

I just went under general anesthesia for the first time on Thursday. It was so weird I remember them saying I will get sleepy next thing I know I wake up and it's all over. I was afraid of saying weird things. I asked the nurse if I said anything weird. She said no so I was relieved. I remember I asked "what kind of name is Arnkoff". When I'm drunk or drugged up I'm nervous about it because I have a twisted mind and I express it.
I only had a catheter inserted so it wasn't a big thing but there was a nurse there and Dr. Arnkoff was there too and he talked to me one more time before I left.
