As an option what do you think about the Turkey for SRS.

As you know, Thailand is most famous destination to do this surgery but it is very far from Europe.

In Turkey, this surgery also could be done. I suggest you Prof Dr. Ali Gurlek here. The cost of operation f=>m approxiametly 10000$ m=>f approxiamately 12500$ included all costs.

You need to stay at hospital 3-6 days depends on your skin. After 15 days Doctor will control you and the process will be done.

you can take a look of his articles on his web-site http://www.draligurlek.com/yayinlar/yurt-disi-yayinlari.html

What do you think about the destination of Turkey? Is there any friends that have experience on this country?

Just wondering why does F->M is cheaper than M->F? isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

glad I stumbled upon this when I was randomly browsing the forum, I am from Turkey and I do know him. He has a somewhat questionable reputation in here because he was fired from a state hospital because of corruption charges, he went private right after that and is currently dominating the market (especially the TS scene) via undercutting other surgeons. Some doctors and even hospitals refuse trans patients altogether so he is like a jewel for many here. We consulted him for FFS but found out that he has limited experience with it and doesnt even know how other surgeons work outside of our country. I know two people who had SRS with him and both have sensation and depth problems and one of them even cried and told us that "her life was over" because of him. I might blame the patients for depth issues since the TS scene in turkey has some grave issues on culture and education and they are (and turkish people in common) are pretty ignorant when it comes to listening the instructions given by doctors. There were only two reputable surgeons in turkey which had decent experience on SRS but one of them died of a stroke last year so there is only one left and he refuses doing any operation involving microsurgery and has no experience with nerves so I dont believe that he is doing his best with the sensation part. I met some of his patients and they were quite happy with their results but I dont trust these statements because trans people tend to lie a lot about positive outcomes to strangers and kinda turn it into a matter of pride and I am not even counting the "my surgeon is a god" complex :p.

Honestly I dont recommend Turkey for any surgery related to trans issues. I would however tell people to consider Turkey for other aesthetic surgeries, we do have some world class surgeons which are unable to shine because of the language barrier and poor international marketing, for example we do have a rhinoplasty specialist that is considered to be on par with toby mayer and lots of celebrities flock to him, his prices are good too because you arent paying extra for reputation, katie piper went to him for some of her surgeries after her face was burned and I think she mentioned him on oprah too. Anyway I am just warning you, I dont mean to cause any harm to those surgeons and I left out the names on purpose. I really wouldn't trust inexperienced turkish surgeons with such important and life changing surgeries so I went with facial team for my FFS and I am going to Suporn for my SRS in 13 days. To be honest lots of smart T-girls in turkey pick affordable thai surgeons because they are paying much less when compared to turkey while getting a more experienced doctor.

mmmmm

There are some quite good SRS surgeons in Europe, they just don't advertise their work, like surgeons from US or Thailand do, where they use business approach to it. In Europe it is mostly health care directed approach and most of surgeons/urologists are not in it like it's a private company business. Therefore it is a issue of information availability, and often even not accessible to foreigners. It is threated like a health care rather than anything else, covered by a health insurance, and accessible to those patients who go through (more or less) organized system, working on a principle of multidisciplinary team, from psychiatrist, psychologist, endo's, urologist, surgeon, gynecologist, etc...

I'm from the Balkans and never heard anything good about Turkey except the beaches. I definitely would NOT go there for surgery.

The best idea is to stick to first world countries and Thailand is a special case. Thai surgeons have been doing this for a while.

Serbia is definitely a better choice than Turkey and Belgrade SRS surgeons have a lot of experience. And it's closer than Turkey.

When I asked some German surgeons about SRS even they told me to contact Belgrade.

I had my orchiectomy with Dr. Arnkoff and I am having a penectomy without vaginoplasty with him too so all my surgeries will be here in U.S.

But I think I would pick Germany if I had to go outside the country. I wouldn't go to Serbia either.  Last time I went here I had my baggage with presents disappear. Really don't want

to deal with things in a corrupt country while I am going through something serious like surgery.

Can You provide any feedback regarding Dr.Djinovic? I am looking into many options and there was some time when I kinda torn between Djinovic and Chett. Chett, of course, has much more experience, but it appears that Djinovic is very skilled SRS surgeon as well. Besides, travel and logistics to Serbia is much easier, and since a lot of population seem to speak or understand Russian, there is much less language barrier as well...

Well I actually don't have any experience with them except they were recommended to me by some German surgeons and also I talked with Dr. Harold Reed from Miami on the phone once and he told me the Serbian surgeons are really good and they observed his surgeries too to make sure he does it right. He also spent some time in Belgrade learning how to do SRS. Yeah Russian is pretty similar I understand a lot of it as a native Serbo-Croatian speaker.
And most of the doctors know how to speak Russian.

I live in Turkey and I absolutely agree on what former person from Turkey have said. My friend had breast implants and chin reduction from a surgeon. Results were fine. He even knew about Suporn and his work. He told he contacted him too. He showed some results of his work and claims to do similiar technique. But even then I couldnt trust him. This is a huge step not to taken lightly. Most transwomen in Turkey is not well educated,  so therefore they cannot contact with well-known opportunities and doctors in here profit from that lack of information. They are sadly sex workers too and because of that they can be careless with their after-care. For educated, self-informed/researching, good english speaking, cautious and ''lucky'' transwomen in Turkey, Thailand surgeons are the best choice.
