I've finished what I could for laser, now I'm left with mostly blondish hairs of which with my fair skin most lasers can't really help remove. I've been putting off electrolysis for now, and in the mean time I've been going between shaving, waxing, and plucking my facial hair. I haven't tried facial epilators yet.

However, every time I either wax or pluck hairs, I get red bumps and/or inflammation. I'm wondering if perhaps it's due to the follicle being empty, that perhaps sebaceous fluid, which is normally blocked by the hair in the follicle, is flowing into the pore and causing inflammation...

Does anyone know of any kind of way to completely remove the hairs, like waxing or plucking, without getting redness?

Plucking is said to be bad as it can actually make the hair stronger and hair shafts broken below the skin can become ingrown.

I don't think there is really any way to get rid of the inflammation totally. You could sterilize with alcohol to prevent infection and use witch hazel as an astringent and a topical antibiotic like bacitracin (available OTC) after.

Yes! Witch hazel and an antibiotic is the idea I needed! Perfect thank you!

That's advice from my electrologist. She is great although I haven't seen her for weeks as I'm doing laser (and I'll go back when the laser does all it can do).
