I just brought a tactical knife for under $5 on Ebay.  I brought it primarily for self-defense just in case someone breaks into my house.   My mom is too afraid to have guns in the house, so a knife is the next best alternative for me. I hope I never have to use it for that though.

Personally, I would say work because of financial reasons.
