Has anyone here started hormones while having gynecomastia? What were your results and how much time did it take for your breasts to grow? I'm wondering because I'm planning on taking HRT without being full-time and if gynecomastia makes breasts entirely too prominent on a 'male' body even at an early (6 month) stage.

I can't say that I have, Traverse.  Any ideas from your doctors?

I'm still looking for someone that specializes in gender that my insurance will cover. So far I'm not having luck finding even a gender therapist.

Gyno will make the breasts more prominent rapidly since you skip at least the first months of budding.

Enigma

Oddly enough I've found that people are largely oblivious, or maybe just polite, about noticeable breasts on an otherwise apparent male.

Its like this, the brain doesn't read all the words on the page, it reads most of them and fills in the blanks with what's implied.  People don't notice boobs on a man because they're not generally supposed to be there, the brain just fills in the assumtions.

At least that's my theory.

And if nothing else, you can always conceal them with clothing.  Enough at least to avoid suspicion.

There oblivious because the nipple doesn't stick out.
Male nipples don't stick out like female ones.
So, even big manboobs don't have a as big an impact
as smaller "perkier" breasts even on a male.

Well, that's reassuring.  ;D

Nobody noticed when I waxed my arms. I was as hairy as a gorilla, and even my dad didn't notice it while I was driving him around. I guess people do generally let their mind fill in the blanks.

Humans are patternistic animals, that's why they only tend to notice something drastic like weightloss or a subtle but drastic new haircut, etc.  Even then they have a hard time figuring it out initially, becuase what their eyes see is not what their mind stored of the pattern that is "you".

In the continum of all things drastic, body hair removal isn't all that drastic.  Some people might notice right away, but most probably don't or at least it just doesn't register with them until they've seen it a time or two.

Hi Traverse
Depending on what age you are will determine what the result of how fast and big your breast Growth also depends the genetic makeup on the female side of the family. I believe the ratio is something like 75% the size of the women on the average  in your family.

If I remember correctly I had breast growth start four months after starting taking HRT. I started HRT 7 years ago and every now and again my beasts are still sending me little messages of growth.

Again the myth about age!!
And TS having smaller breasts than GG's
never been proven EVER.

A study in the netherland saw that TS after 2 years had breast significantly smaller than GG's, the problem with that is first, when your older you need bigger doses of estrogen to compensate for lower HGH levels and also because of those lower levels, for some, dosage cannot compensate and growth is slower, but still they're no reason on earth why eventually if dosage is high enough long enough it doesn't reach GG potential. Also, dosage tend to be prescribed uniformally instead of in response to growth rate (which would be indicative of responsiveness to hormones and human growth hormone levels). That coupled with conservative dosing means that many TS's get shortchanged in growth speed and even final results.

To be fair, a study of TS, should use appropriate dosage and be done after 10 years, not after 2 years.

Another problem, TS have an unrealistic view of what normal breast size is. After puberty, the average is 34B in the US, as a women grows older, she gains weight and it gets to 36C average (band size and breast size increases with weight gain, but this has nothing to do with the intrisic size of the growth potential, which is still 34B).

A 34B average with lower HGH could be reached in up to 10+ years if dosage are not kept up.

Often TS diminish their HRT dosage too soon because of doctor conservatism, just after SRS (No real reason, since dangers are very low compared to GG's). That leads to underdevelloped breasts.

Because of frame size, even if a TS has exactly the same breast size as if she'd started at puberty, they may look too small.

Previously progesterone was not used. Lately it gets used a lot more.

If appropriate dosage are used and your HGH levels are not so low that bosting estrogen can compensate to give results in reasonable time. Which is the case for most under 60, then you'll reach you growth potential.

This potential may be disapointing. But, some GG's also have very small breasts.

BTW, my syster's a 34B, and my mother and all my aunts never got over C when they were young.  I'm at 34C in 14 months after losing 25 pounds, If not, I'd probably be 36C (which is bigger than what I got now, but i prefer being daintier, the way I'm going, I'll probably end up a 32D, not bigger than now, but with more projection).

This is very true. The number of times I've managed to pass unintentionally (ie. not binding) because my 'breasts' look just like man boobs is truly amazing.
