When I visited my endo the other day, we had a short discussion about progesterone.  We haven't really came to a conclusion about it yet, but she was giving me some ideas about if it would be good or not to add to my regimen.  Really, the only *semi* plus side we were looking at it for, was in hope that it would make me gain some weight.  Although, now the real question, the metabolism as you get older slows, and apparently so does it on HRT.  So I'm not quite sure if it's worth a try just for that.  I'm 135 right now at 6ft tall, so my body has very very minimal fat, as with the whole curve issue heh.

I'm just not quite sure on this one though, since I figure I'll be getting fat anyways when I grow older :P  (that is my personal statement towards myself no one else!!  So please don't get offended!)

Shanetastic, you have some years before you have to worry about getting fat instead of gathering curves.

I started to gain unwanted weight when I went from a pretty active job to a desk job.

I gained more when I passed 35 years old.

And since I have been on HRT I have gained *lots* of weight.  The things that we wish to have, things like a smoother face, breasts, hips, bum, whatever, they all add weight.  Go from flat-chested to a C-cup and you'll see some weight.

There is additional weight in the tissue needed to support what I call the "supplemental circulatory system."  When breasts form they need a blood supply, as does the tummy fat, however little one might gain.  It's easy to see these new blood vessels in the mirror.

I'm not so sure that I would be concerned about gaining weight at this time.

I hope that this helps.

It was just speculation hehe.  So I figured I would ask on here to get some additional opinions.

Most transsexuals are faced with the same problem. Very little fat is distributed in the right places and many transsexuals are 'skinny' as apposed to  'curvy' like a genetic female. Females mostly have rounder and fuller figure's with a larger butt and thighs. I try and put on weight but it all goes on my belly like male type fat distribution (see profile pic for evidence).

Slowly I think the fat is gradually changing but it's took me 7 years..

Also if you were overweight ever before and gained weight in male norm areas, then once you lose weight and have been under HRT if you ever gain weight again, it will be to those areas you already have deflated fat cells.  Only Lipo gets rid of fat cells.  Just losing the weight puts them in a deflated mode.  I plan on getting lipo once I have lost enough weight to be not considered overweight so that I can have those cells removed and to also help sculpt in some curves.

I've never weighed more than 140 in any time of my life.  Like I like my weight, but I look pretty dang skinny when being 6ft tall.  I'm not sure what to think. . . is that bad or good :P  I have the rest of my life to get fat! Haha.

That's very skinny 140, especially for a male since you've got more muscle mass than a women so it should give you more weight.

I weight, 185 at start of HRT and now weight 160.
There's no secret to losing weight less calories than you burn through normal activity and exercise.

Fat = Curves ;)

It's a tricky balance, but IMHO, my face looks less feminine when I lose weight. At 6'2", I was dipping the 150's not long ago and I really didn't like the way I looked. 165 seems to be a good weight for me. I wish my abdomen was smaller, but... oh well. I'd rather have a cuter face ;)

Still, you're young, and still have that "baby fat" cuteness to your face, even when weighing so little. I'm old at 43, lol, so it's trickier to balance for me.

lol Kate.

And 43 isn't that old :D  You have many more years ahead of you!  But I must say I always dislike decisions that I have to make :P  I enjoy being skinny, but at the same time because of it I have no curves, or. . . well a butt for that matter either.  lol.

Argh!  I'll mole it over for a couple months I guess Haha.

And yeah it's pretty skinny Keira.  Oh the ridicule back in the day because of it!!  I guess it's all for a reason though.  I've never been able to gain muscle or weight for some reason.  *sigh* for back in my proving days, but joy for my present days of being myself.

Hmmm. . . decisions.  Maybe gaining some could be beneficial. . . I think. . . ugghh I don't know actually.

I take progesterone for one reason and one reason only. I'm insane while take estrogen alone. Progesterone really keeps me calm and less of a teenage girl in attitude.

Im 5"11" and 115 lbs, healthy as an OX, not anorexic, and I east way to much every day, and purely fast food :(

I dont really know why

Well, 5h11 at 115, is way way way underweight
(even models have more weight than this)
you must have almost no fat and little muscles!!
If you look at the BMI table, you're deep in "bad" territory.
I'd at least try to devellop core, buttocks and upper leg muscles.
This would give you more shape in the lower body.

I'm 155 at 6 foot every girl I know says I thin, can't imagine what they'd say about you!!!

Well, if your 18%, that means your lean mass is very low (muscles) because I've got abouit 14% and I weight 155 and I've got a small frame (even for a female). Did the doctor tell you anything, ever? Seems surprising the doctor has never commented on this.

Not sure how you can not gain weight with so little muscle mass. How much fast food do you eat? You do realize that HRT willl reduce muscles further and also reduce metabolism through other means. IF you listen to your appetite, your weight should still stay controlled (though I'm even wondering if your system is metabolising food energy correctly, that would explain why you eat much and are so light).

I still think you should devellop lower body muscles. Core, buttocks, upper legs. With your slight frame, this will look very very female and good.

Thanks kiera I am very worried about this too.

I figure that I plan to transistion in 3 months to full time, start HRT in 1.5 months.

I am worried about the muscle thing, see I am strong (high tensile strentgh/type of muscles, but small muscles)  I can bench my own weight so I guess thats good. But if they shrink I dont wanna look like an anarexic female. LOL

I plan to find a appropiate diet of foods, not eliminating carbs ect but a real diet

Begin cardio workouts

And prepare as physically as possible for HRT,  I know full well that to handle HRT you need to be in the utmost shape possible and I hope tho begin to accomplish this now.

What did you do to get ready physically for HRT and Transistion?
