My trough was 900 and my doc wasn't concerned about it, but that seems high to me?

It might be high, but depends on what your peak is.  If you only reach, say for instance, 1100 at peak, then 900 might be a normal trough for you.  If you peak at 1500 or higher, then there is room for some adjustment. Some people experience larger swings than others.

I wish my insurance would pay something toward a gel for me, as I might fare better with a more consistent level.  Actually, I wish my body would just produce enough of its own testosterone  :'(

Met with my doctor today and she was thrilled with my test results (both my T level and other associated items). Unfortunately the price on my gel went up! Like, exponentially up. She wrote me a prescription for compounded T, and I found a local pharmacy that's going to attempt to work with my insurance so that I can stay on gel. If that price still isn't appealing, boyfriend has volunteered to inject me :( I'm a sad panda.

Last i checked my T levels I was around 50nmol right after a shot and 20nmol right before my shot. But this was pre hysterectomy so I have no idea where I'm at now

I checked my online results today and I'm at 738 ng/dl. (Pre-T: 67.90 ng/dl)

Wow my body must just be using up T like crazy, if you're only a month in and getting those kinds of results; I didn't start on a low dose or anything, just standard starting dosage (my Dr. gave me the option of a 'conservative' dose and I decided to go against it). If you're on injections, is that a mid- or end-cycle reading?

I'm bad with terminology, but end-cycle. My shot days are on Thursday and I almost forgot about my appointment to get my labs done the day before. What I was more surprised about was how fast my labs got sent down to Philly where my endo is. I've heard guys say it took about three days to get a response, but for me it was the next day. I was a bit worried that my thyroid issue was going to possibly tamper with my T levels, but everything looks impressive compared to my usual results.

A little bit of useful information at nickgorton.org , but a nice conversation with an endocrinologist or an eager med student may reveal more insight.  Truthfully, I think hormones are still somewhat misunderstood in the medical community since their effects are widespread and difficult to measure or assign normal values. There is great variability among people.

Yes, thank you.  I found some academic journal articles that were right up my alley.

I'm 4 months on T.  Had my levels tested on Thursday, before my weekly shot and I'm 732.  Still have my ovaries, only for a week more but my estrogen was 90.  Don't understand the lingo of peak and trough though??

On injections there's going to be a high level early after your shot (the peak) and right before your next shot there will be low levels (the trough).

Ephemeral

I was around 9.7 or something? A couple of hours after application which is on the lower end like it really is minimum normal for a cisguy but if I up I will get problems associated with too much such as bad acne and very sensitive nipples. This was over half a year ago and I haven't tested recently.

It should be noted though that I don't have my ovaries left so my situation is very different from those who still do.

I haven't had any real changes associated with T for over half a year as well though, and idk if it's related to that my T is quite low or not.
Come watch with me as our world burns.
