Hi my name is Jess. I am about 2 months on hrt. I'm sort of a hard case.. I have been transitioning somewhat in secrecy for 2months. I haven't really told anyone, except my sister and my friends. I have a lot of things go through my mind. Like Am i too old already to have just started transitioning? Im 22. Am i too tall? I'm 6"1. Will i ever pass? An honest question i think of constantly. So what do you think? Any insight is better than nothing.
Currently on..

Unfortunately dosages are not allowed to be posted, but welcome to the forum! Are you seeing a therapist? 6'1 is not to tall at all, women come in various shapes and sizes and 22 is a great age to start.

Hey there Jess, You'll be jsut fine!! I didn't start my transition until I was 26. Would have loved to have started at 22, but life has a nasty habit of getting in the way. I'm also 5'10"/5'11" and haven't had any problems. There's always tall girls out there so there's no need to worry about that.

Just keep doing what feels right for you and you'll be great!

Jess,
I did not start until 55... you will be surprised what can happen on HRT especially at your age..
I did have FFS but my body has changed so much..
Therapy is so important.. seriously.. even if you can only go once a month.. I prefer women as therapist not guys... but thats just me.

I think so. You are a little fat, and it disguise the shape that could be more like a male one. ^^

Women come in all shapes and sizes. Work on finding clothing that flatter what you do have. Early on that is difficult because you have no idea where to start. I started transition very young but still finding clothing that fits a particular frame is a problem even CIS women deal with their whole lives. Google search styles for full figured girls etc and you'll go in the right direction. Have fun with it.

Hi Jess and welcome :D

At 22 you are not to old, many of us started way later and seem to be doing OK :)

Hi Jessie, no problem, you look like you'll be able to pass in no time, especially with age on your side... Ooh And welcome  :icon_wave:

I started HRT around 2003 and was around 50... Still in transition... It's amazing the magic HRT does... Enjoy the forum and enjoy your transition

To be perfectly honest you look more female than male in that picture.
Hard to extrapolate from that though unless you post more angles as being gendered female facially is a 360 degree thing.
Looks really good though and only going to get better with a year or so on HRT.

The younger you start transition the better but 22 is definitely not too old to start transition. Very young in fact. Many transition much later and still achieve great results.
6'1" is tall but there are plenty of cis-female out there that height or taller. IMO body shape is more of a gender marker than height.

Hey Jess,

honestly, you look androgynous already. I would have a moment of uncertainty gendering you from just the face. As you continue HRT and try to build confidence, I'm sure you'll pass better and better in terms of how you look. Remember that passing goes beyond the immediate visuals--it also involves how you talk, walk, act, etc.

And 22 is definitely not too old, as the others have said. There's no 'too old.' I started when I was 27. Many others here have started much later than that, and they look amazing. It's only too late if you let yourself believe that lie.

Give back your heart / to itself, to the stranger who has loved you / all your life, whom you ignored" - Walcott, "Love after Love"

I started in earnest at 36 and I'm fine. You look great for someone who just started, I'm about a month ahead of you.

You'll be fine, and I don't say that to people lightly as I think way too often discussion about appearance becomes too much of a circlejerk vs any honest criticism and opinions.  You however as someone said above already look pretty androgynous and at 2 months in hormones have not done all that much yet.
26 years old. Started E in March '14 and Spiro over a year before that. Also, I'm effing awesome.

This wasn't just plain terrible, this was fancy terrible. This was terrible with raisins in it

Given enough time on HRT, and you'll easily pass. You've already got me beat and I've been on HRT for just over 15 months.

I think you have a lot of feminine features and HRT will work very well at age 22.

You look good, I think everyone wishes they started sooner. I'm 27 and almost 4 months into hrt and I kick myself daily for not realizing and starting sooner. It is what it is you cant go back in time you just have to work with what you go. As far as hight goes do a google search for Amazon Eve. she is a 6'8" model, she is beautiful and also happens to be MTF.

Hi!

Starting HRT at 22 years is definitely not too old! I started at 37! I wish I had started at 22!!

Don't worry because the changes will come, but you have to be patient enough to let your body do the adjustments.

In my experience, the transition it's been kind of a gradual thing, but changes definitely do come after a whild. At your age I think you should definitely pass after some time.

Hugs!
