I made it all the way through Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Even managed to reach Eagle Scout a couple weeks before my 18th birthday.

I was a Brownie in elementary school, but only for a few years. My mother didn't like the troop leader so she pulled me out. Not that I complained at all since I didn't really enjoy it. I always wanted to be a Boy Scout though cuz they did "cooler" stuff. Looking back now I know why I felt that way.

I was in the cub scouts and then the boy scouts.  I quit the boy scouts because I didn't fit in and hated it. 

I am an eagle scout. I made two treks to philmont.  The place is awesome  everything  from  playing in the snow of a snow capped mountain to eating lunch with the wreckage of a crashed military plane.  The  programs are great. I loved every minute of my time in scouting.   

 I was in Cub Scouts then Boy Scouts and starting in my teen years I was doing gay things and dressing as a girl, but no one in Scouts had an inkling and what did it matter anyhow? I was actually a pretty good Scout, just missing Eagle because I turned 18 and did not have all the requirements done. But I did hold the office of junior assistant scoutmaster. Pretty good for someone who wanted to be a girl! Too bad I could not have been a Girl Scout though!

I was also a Boy Scout, I loved it but really only because I am a huge fan of nature. My depressions and anxieties always melt way when out on a hike or just walking through the woods.

I loved the camping mostly but building a slot car with my dad was pretty fun too! I quit just before turning 12 though and really have not given in much thought since. I live in Arkansas "The natural state" and I still love those things. I imagine that will never change despite some iffy camping trips. Forgetting to water proof my tent then sleeping on a floating air mattress because of rain....that was fun. xD

I was a brownie and girl scout. I liked the camping and that sort of thing. My mom was a girl scout leader and did try to socialize me with "charm school",  I believe that was a low point. But I liked the very many less gendered activities.

BTW, the GSA and BSA are totally different types of organizations. GSA is very LGBT friendly and has admitted trans girl scouts, and is openly accepting of lesbians as leaders and troop members. TMK, the BSA is not and barely is accepting of gay boys due to it being quite a right wing group.

Yeah the BSA can be very disappointing politically and ethicly. If they only knew how many misfits they have produced though. For every George Bush Sr. there are a half dozen weirdos. And I don't mean anyone here is weird. I was in a noise band in my early 20's and our big project was breaking into an abandoned insane asylum to bash on stuff and make noise...music. While we were sitting on the morgue loading dock <eating sandwiches> I reflected on the fact that my brother and I had used skills learned in the Scouts to do our breaking and entering. The other two band members then mentioned that they were ex scouts as well.
