Good god, that one came on a random Youtube hunt and my god.... tears and snot everywhere (oh so glamourous!).... Brought all my feelings to the surface about my father's passing this year. I'm even getting a little teary THINKING about that song atm!

Not that I am religious, because I'm not. But, the song reminds me of a dear friend of mine who passed away many years ago and I was in a Choir that year. We did a tribute to him with that song. So, now, I can't listen to that song with out thinking about him.

Especially when I co-sing (if there is such a word) in my girl (kinda) voice I get really emotional and may start crying. No matter how many times I listen to certain songs they get me right there. Never fails heh.

So I get very emotionally invested in music as it was my first love and the field I wanted to work in

And not a sad song just one I like that gets me a is riptide by vane joy

When my mother passed 5 years ago she had left a journal. This is one of the songs she wanted played at her service. I'm not very religious but this song gets me every time. =c

I want to expand on this because at the time, I had only heard the Single version which was cut down in length considerably.

The full 6-minute album version is much better because the vocals start off just as normal before Bowie's desperation shows towards the end.  It just plays out so much better in full version.  It's such a tragic beautiful song too.

That's how you do emo-like screaming.  Modern pop-rock bands have nothing on Bowie.
