Funyarinpa

Hi, I joined this site because you all seemed like really nice people and my life has fallen pretty far over the past few weeks. I'm just barely clinging on to my sanity right now...

Anyway, I'm 16 years old, only just started to recieve help by talking about this a few months ago, and hope to find the help I need to feel like I'm making some progress and to put to rest some worries.

Hi,

Welcome to Susan's!

Good to hear that you have started to receive help. You'll surely be able to get over whatever is bothering you.
Meanwhile, feel free to share more about yourself here. There are a lot of friendly people here with loads of good advice and a wide range of life stories. I too joined just a few months ago in the middle of a similar downward spiral as you and the people here have played a big role in helping me come to terms with myself.

Take care, and see you around

Hi Funyarinpa, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm in Boston, I'm 53, and I'm a crossdresser. You didn't tell us if you're male, female, or somewhere in between. You don't have to tell us, but we can give better advice if we know what you need. Grab some snacks and I'll see you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Funyarinpa hi and welcome! *Waves excitedly*

While I am also new here I just wanted to tell you that you are definitely in the right place. The people here have been amazing, so many kindred souls to be found. :)

Hi Funyarinpa  :icon_wave: welcome to Susan's... And thanks for letting us all now how nice we are  :-*

Don't let things get to you, you'll find lots of good info here, and try and get to a therapist rather than go insane... Hey we've all been there, and sometimes still do.

Thanks everyone! :) You really made me feel welsome. I'm really glad to have joined at long last- I was considering it a while ago but was kind of overwhelmed and didn't know how to even talk to myself about it.

I probably should have mentioned this at first; I identify as male- though I've only been able to say that for about a year now. For 4/5 years I haven't felt at all like the girl people see me as but didn't have an explanation, so I just forced myself through it.

I guess my real aim at the moment is to find/be referred to a therapist I can really open up to and feel like I am making progress towards the kind of future I hope for (Or get as close to it as possible). At the moment I feel like I am being thrown around from place to place because of my age, and that people are ignoring how I feel. It's the idea that I may eventually just be flatly refused help by someone/somewhere and be left on my own again that really makes me scared- especially with college just around the corner.

Hi Funyarinpa,

Good to hear more about you. I can totally relate to the feelings you have about your age right now. At that age, I too went through similar feelings of being ignored and anxiety about college etc (this was a little more than a decade ago, when I did not even know much about gender variance etc).
Don't worry, this happens to almost everyone, whether cis or trans, but it gets over soon and then we wonder what was all that anxiety about.

Regarding gender, it is great that you are already through the questioning stage and know your identity; it takes many of us much longer.
You might have already seen the information available on the FtM forums here and all the other forums dealing with different stages of transitioning. If you have any trouble finding what you are looking for, do let us know and I'm sure someone will be able to help. About finding a therapist, the ease and time taken may depend on where you are located, but don't worry if you come across someone not willing to help. Just ignore them and move on to find somebody else.

All the best
Cindy
