Mayra Viamonte

Hello all,

I'm currently on search for a psychiatrist and studying all processes and it's cosequences for a MTF transition.

I seem to have learned a lot about the scientific theory and psychological impacts of each step so far.

One thing I'm sorely lacking, however, is the presence of support groups and related doctors. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I can't get in touch with anyone in that area.

So... if anyone here lives, or knows someone who lives in Brazil and can point me out to good therapists, endocrinologists, surgeons and other related medical professionals, please do =)

Hugs

Viamonte

Mayra, I see you posted this in 2011 long time ago. If you are still active on this site please let me know if you succeeded in finding a good Endo in Brasil. I am of Brazilian blood and spent much of my life in Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana, Minas Gerais and Bahia. Please let me know if you found success my friend or if you still need some support there. I imagine you would be well on your way by now though, still, be lovely to hear from you though.

Besos

Oh indeed I'm way done with transition by now, but I never did find a good professional to help me, so, self medication it was. It worked fine for me, though, but thank you very much for your concern. =)

Brasileira

Olá  Mayra, tudo bem?  Well I used to live in Rio, and I got really good support from the clinic Moncorvo Filho downtown Rio de Janeiro,  but they have stopped with the treatment with T-peolpe cause the endocrinologist went off but they helped us with psychiatrist( psychiatrist, psychotherapist and endocrinologist), a lot we could get the "Androcur " for free we needed only to buy the estrogen  ( streva gel ). They sent a lot of girls to the greatest OP with doctor Alexandro which last name I can't remember unfortunately when they stopped with us there were many girls still waiting to have the OP, and there is a university in Rio which still gives treatment for T-peolpe.
