I've a top surgery consultation with Dr. Schechter in the beginning of March and his results are few and far to come by online. Does anyone have any experience with him?

I don't directly anyway. But I do know of him. He is one of those under the radar surgeons. He has a very good reputation and dealt with insurance (and now Medicare) way before anybody else. He's super professional and does a good job, but not like some other surgeons who have more of a name. You can ask to see results of any surgeon. You should look for results with people who have body types like yours. I don't know of anybody that hasn't liked him. I definitely think you should go for the consult, esp if the distance (and so on) is convenient.

Update.
I went to Dr. Schechter on March 2nd for a top surgery consultation. One of the selling points for going to his office was the fact they deal with insurance. I posted a previous thread about the process of how long it would take for them to process it. Getting fed up with waiting for a call I went online and checked all my claims, and they haven't submitted anything to my insurance. I even called my insurance provider and the gentleman I was speaking to called some of the other departments, and absolutely nothing. Nothing to try to get pre approval. So as of March 23rd, nothing has gone forward in trying to get surgery due to Dr. Schechter's office not submitting anything. And on top of it all two weeks ago I called to try to check up on everything and they told me their insurance person would call me back, still no calls. I'll be calling tomorrow to see what's going on but I'm just extremely devastated at this point about the whole situation.

Another update
So yesterday my mom called for me, considering I'm a real push over and have issues standing my ground. Their insurance person said "I faxed it so I'll call today to see what's going on." Great! So we called this morning and the insurance person wasn't there and they said to call at two this afternoon. So we called at two this afternoon and she said "Oh no, I didn't have time to do it tomorrow. But I'll do right now and call you right back!" Not only was there no call back, but when I called at four, since they close at five. Insurance person was not at her desk and she would call me and they left a note on the desk for her. I started out really loving their office and staff, but right now they're close to being the worst.

I've had four consultations, one with Dr. Garramone over the phone which went smooth and efficient and answered all my questions, but they wouldn't work with insurance so wanted to pursue other routes. I had a consult with Dr. Bayne, a local surgeon who did my mom's double mastectomy for her breast cancer, and that was okay, didn't pursue him due to I was only out for a year at that time and insurance wouldn't cover it since I hadn't seen a gender therapist. I've also had a consultation with Dr. Steinwald at Lake Forrest Plastics, and that was a horrible experience, he was rude, his staff was super snippy and inconsiderate and they wouldn't even give us surgical codes to try to work with insurance.

I hope tomorrow we get some answers because this is starting to get ridiculous.
