With all the organs that can be transplanted now, it would be great if they could transplant a cis guy's goods onto transmen. It seems like a waste to just toss a trans women's goods when she transitions. If surgeon's could transplant the goods from either brain dead cis men or trans women as they transition, nothing would have to be formed and there wouldn't be the scarring that comes from using skin to fashion a penis. Erectile tissue would already be present, so no implants would be needed. Even if it was just the penis and not the scrotum and testes, it would still be great. I'd be willing to take the drug that keeps the recipient person's body from rejecting the donor's tissue.

Any thoughts?

Well, there isn't much left from a transwoman to transplant after surgery, and cismales would have to give formal consent, as you do for kidneys etc.

The histocompatibility issues from none live related transplants is the major problem. Besides finding a surgical team that would do it.

As Cindy stated, they use alot of tissue to make the neo-vagina, etc... I don't know about the cis guy thing, but well they had a successful uterus transplant for a cis woman this year I think, and she even gave birth, so they can probably have a successful one for males too I guess, but like usually it will only made available for cis people first. I also think it would be really hard it's not like they can just attach one and that's it, but yeah I don' know... Hopefully in the future it will be available.

If it happened it would have you come from someone recently deceased.

There is to much of the penial tissues that gets repurpsed so as said not much left to be transplanted. 

Maybe soon it will be 3d tissue printed.

Most of the tissue is utilized in MTF bottom surgery. There would be nothing to transplant. It would have to come from regular organ donation like hearts, lungs, kidneys, etc.

Thanks for reminding me where the tissue goes on transwomen. My bad. We can all use some fantasies about advancing in trans medicine even if they are way out there. You never know.

You're not all wrong, Sam. If surgeons could swap guy bits and lady bits then what you suggest would be possible. The dangers and problems would be nearly insurmountable. I think we'll see grown ones first. Would require some serious hormonal and maybe even genetic manipulation. Not in my lifetime, though. For my younger trans brothers and sisters I hope in theirs.

I saw an article link on FB about the first successful man part transplant being done by a team of doctors.  If I find it, I can put up the link for you guys.

The definition of "successful" is important. If it's just "it didn't fall off" that's not quite good enough, let alone a lack of sensation.

Even though it might not be functional, its would at least be real without the the imperfections of surgeons. It may take, it may not, but a real penis has skin that is meant to stretch with erection, so getting an implant so it would be more realistic. In intimate situations, it would also be warm, something that strap ons can't do.

Rueben, I would love to see a site that gave the procedure and result of a transplant. Even phalloplasties have the danger of them not taking. Vessel, nerves, there would be a possibility of failure. I don't know how closely surgeons can create erotic feeling, but those of us who were done before that was possible are used to that anyway.

No because sexual organs are used to give you sensation. So that the penis, in a transwoman you realize they don't "remove" anything, likewise for us, those tissues are highly sensitive and can't really be taken off, but are used to give the phallo or meta sensation.

With the experimental transplant that was done (and not sure if it took or not) they had a residual organ to attach it to, so it was cis male to cis male. Perhaps a victim of an accident.

If it's the same story I heard, the recipient was the victim of a botched circumcision at birth that caused an infection. I think he still had part of his penis and that's why the surgery was successful, they weren't transplanting the entire thing. There was another story I heard where a man's penis was cut off but doctors were able to reattach it because it was a fresh injury and hadn't been damaged too much yet so it's interesting that the transplant actually took and became functional even though the botched circumcision happened years ago.

Hate to burst your bubble but the lower regions of males and females are so vastly different the amount of rewiring  and repositioning vital nerves and etc etc would be so strenuous within itself, regardless of if the body rejects it or not and then how you probably wouldnt be mobile for weeks. And the sheer cost of having it done, and getting permission from most likely a dead mans family. Its not going to happen anytime soon and when it does happen dont hold your breath.

On a brighter note, stem cell research could potentially create you one, by using a 3d bio template and getting the cells to create you a penis from your own DNA it would be far more feesable.

And 3d printers could make a half decent one to satisfy  your needs in the meantime

I dont think transplants are the way for us at all. I used to wonder why we couldnt just get a transplant from someone but its not that simple at all. There are anatomical differences between us for a start, they couldnt just take it off them and attach it to us. Even if it did work we would have to be on immunosuppressant drugs for the rest of our lives to prevent organ rejection. Even with the best donors matched there can still be a problem with rejection. Immunosuppression comes with many problems

The best route for us I believe will be the lab grown route. It being made from our own tissue would mean no risk of rejection and no immunosuppression required
