So for the first time in 20 years I have insurance that covers surgery! Woohoo!

However; now I need to get on the wait list and in order to do that I need to have an in person consult with Dr. Meltzer. The earliest consult isn't until August of this year so I can't get on the wait list until after that. The wait list is currently scheduling for July 2016 but I still need to wait 5 months to even get on it and it'll just be further out by then. I do have a consult scheduled now and I'm on the consult move up list.

I thought I had a good idea when talking to his people in office checking to see if he'll be at any conferences between now and then but the first one he's scheduled for is August. It's annoying that I can't get on the wait list without the consult so I'm wondering if anyone has other ideas on how to get on the wait list somewhat sooner or how to get at least an initial consult sooner.

My only other thought was maybe someone here will need to change their consult and then the office would let me switch with them or something like that. I just want to add again, I've been waiting 20 years so another year and half or more is still a really long time to me. I'd appreciate any positive suggestions.
