some surgeons require you to be a certain weight (healthy for your height) because being overweight causes more complications. the same goes for going on t that some doctors won't let you go on t if you're overweight because it's a health risk but that i have yet to see someone mention that being an issue.

I haven't heard of anyone being disqualified for surgery based on weight. It might limit your procedural options, and some surgeons might recommend losing weight, but I haven't heard of anyone being told they can't have surgery until they're a certain weight. Unless they had other health issues that made surgery difficult.

There is one guy on here that apparently has a surgeon that is requiring them to loose weight before getting top surgery, but generally it is not the norm, at least from the U.S. perspective.

I've heard of someone getting turned down due to weight. But another surgeon accepted him. I'm thinking it is a personal decision by the surgeon.

The surgeon with whom I just consulted will work with quite heavy people (I know several of her patients), but she's cautious about what she promises in terms of outcome; she's up front about the possibility of winding up with dog ears, for example, but she doesn't regard someone's weight as a barrier to the surgery itself, as long as they're healthy.

It's not a major surgery.....I've seen many morbidly obese guys (literally) like 500 lbs get top surgery

People who are 500+ pounds get gastric bypass surgery which is much more complicated and has a much greater risk of complication

you dont need to be "average" weight for your height
I wasn't holding it open for you, who holds the door open for a man?!?

Well I thought it was a nice gesture....BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG!!!!!

also as far as being on T goes there is no difference between a cis male being obese and a trans male on testosterone being obese.....it effects us both the same

being severely overweight and on T as a trans man has the same risks (no more) than a cis man being severely overweight

No doubt no matter what you weigh you will find a physician who will operate on you for any surgery.  That doesn't mean it is safe.

I know that McGinn has weight requirements for vaginoplasty (BMI below 28), but I don't know about top surgery.

his results look FANTASTIC...... and ive seen like 10,000 results at least from all different surgeons from guys of all different body types

garramone doesnt do well with big guys

if u are a big guy u gotta go to a surgeon who does well with big guys and from my research Medalie is the guy to go to if u are big

he has amazing results on bigger guys.....im shocked at how good their chests look

if u are a big guy i'd highly recommend Medalie
