I'm a little over 4 months in now and I actually think I'm starting to like my body, really for like the first time ever! I'm still on a pretty low dose of E and Spiro but I'm starting to notice something that could one day resemble actual boobs! My skin has become super soft, my mood has started to change and my hair line is slowly starting to fill in! Still thinner then most girls my age I just hope it fills in enough that I can pull my hair back that it  won't be noticeable.

Although even after 4 months I still get gendered male 100% of the time. It really sucks. but I think it most has to do with that a lot of the time I go out I'm wearing work clothing or if I'm not at work I dress pretty androgynous and always have a hoodie on. I'm still too uncomfortable to go out full fem and have no idea what looks good on me either and I kind of like the androgynous look anyway. I don't really have any female friends to help me out with that either but I guess I'll figure it one someday.

Congrats on 4 months! I am roughly 4 months myself, a little more because I self medded really low dose E first. So I would say ~5 months total.

Being gendered female isn't going to automatically happen. Did you shape your eyebrows, grow your hair or anything else? Did you start facial hair removal? I can pass effortlessly and consistently, even without makeup, even dressed androgynously and even dressed as a guy. A lot of this is genetics but there is more to appearance than just hormones. Clothing, accessories, mannerisms, voice (voice gets me clocked but I'm going for surgery). Laser and electrolysis helped a lot as my facial hair is another thing that got me clocked as well.

If you really need in person help, try a local support group as suggested.

And don't be afraid! Yes you will get clocked in the beginning but two things will happen. One you will learn to deal with it. Two you will gain confidence that will HELP you to pass. I was a nervous ball of fear the first time I went out en femme but now I do it effortlessly. Even in that dress I'm wearing. Nobody gives me a second look, people gender me female and people treat me like a woman. I am not nervous at all and this helps. I am just a normal, every day person, even with my kids I'm just another minivan driving soccer mom shopping at a big box store.

Congrats on 4 months on Hormones. It only gets better as time goes on.

My hair has grown past just past my ears now but I hate the way it looks, its a little curly and I feel like it still too short that whatever i do to it is just looks like a huge mess so i pretty much always have my hoodie up. I  guess thats part of the reason i keep getting gendered male cause no one can really see my face. I haven't tried shaping my eyebrows as they are pretty naturally thin to begin with an I'm scared of plucking too much. as for facial hair goes I've already had 9 laser sessions and my face is pretty much all cleared up except for a few stubborn hairs that wont go away.

It really messes with my head I want to start dressing more feminine but everyday I'm constantly reminded that I'm a "guy" and its keeping my from exploring past the androgynous look. I am taking small steps though I wear makeup and nail polish daily but i guess its not enough.

Ok well you have to take some brave steps... Risk can bring reward.

You will probably get clocked sooner or later and I would rather make it sooner than later but that's just me. Take some small steps, some people like to make small changes then go out, make small changes again and then go out again. Or some just go big or go home. Either way it's at your pace, no pressure.

The eyebrows may be better handled by a pro, threading or waxing are common.

And I have tons of days where all I see is him in the mirror yet I go out and effortlessly pass, even get compliments and guys hitting on me, even people asking me how a pregnancy with my 3 kids was so hard etc. I roll with it but it is nice. So you may have those days but the only way is to get out into the world and don't be afraid. Some hand holding from friends may help too.

Facial ques are often used to interpret gender. It's why my eyebrows were one of the first things I started having worked on. Their are tutorials on how to pluck your eyebrows with taking away to much online including on youtube. I have been having my done professionally, but I'm about ready to take them over myself since most of the work as been done and I can adjust and clean them up as needed. Covering your hair up I have no doubt adds to it which is why they are using other ques to figure it out. When your ready you will be proud to show your hair off. If it is long enough to do something with when your ready you can have hair stylist give you their recommendations based on your hair and face as to what style would work best for you. I'm still working on my stubborn facial hairs although many of mine now are not the right color for laser. Good luck and hugs
