How long after srs did it take for you to just get up and pee without even realizing you are sitting and not giving it any thought? Or does it always at least enter your mind a little bit on your way to the bathroom, during or after?

I sat to pee for years before GRS too... but I'd say it was about 6 months before I could stop worrying about the potential for making a mess. That had been steadily decreasing, but I still thought about it until a few weeks went by with no issues.

I sat to pee during my year of RLE before surgery to make sure I really understood what SRS would involve. So by the time SRS came around it was second nature.

Since I'm yet unable to transition, sitting to pee is one of the girlish things I started doing a few years ago. It's second nature now. The only time I'll stand is when I'm out camping and the outhouse is icky-icky or it's a winter camp-out and the seat is freezing cold. Otherwise sitting feels much more natural now.

I have not had SRS, but I also stopped standing, basically as soon as I decided that transition was a thing. It was weird for about a week, but now the thought of standing or using a urinal really doesn't even occur to me. It's been about 4 months now I guess.

It is still a bit annoying, because it's hard to get the last little bit out of the pipes until I stand up, but I'm dealing with that.

I sat to pee all my 13 years in transition so nothing out of normal.

I starting sitting to pee when I started HRT.. by the time my vagina was installed.. it was second nature

Hopefully SRS will be later this year for me though!!! 

before srs I usually hovers (minimize contact with toilet seat) if at the public washroom, only sit at home. Post srs hovering is a challenge, so mostly sit down to do my business. Hovering/sitting has become second nature so I never thought of peeing standing up except in the shower.

Standing was never truly a good option unless I liked getting my clothes which I did. I was sitting pre transition so even though I haven't had SRS yet it's thoughtless now and I have been full time for 8 and half months now.

I didn't think about it at all, just did it (pre-op still). However, after a short time, "it" had shrunk enough where sitting caused the stream to go straight out and just miss the rim...creating a problem on+around my belt line of my pants.

This was about a year ago, and I'm still very aware of where the stream might end up... Post-op is supposed to change the angle of the urine stream, so it should be ok.

As far as actually thinking about "should I stand or should I sit?" that doesn't happen. Dysphoria kicks in if I stand.

I'm pre-op and hormones for a little over 4 months. I came out at work in August and have been sitting even before that. I would say about 8-10 months. I didn't think it was going to be a big deal, but its amazing what a difference it made. I'm to the point now where it even feels like I would imagine post-op being some of the time.

I have sat down even before SRS, but I have always had one hand down there to prevent my danglies from touching the bowl (yuck).
After the SRS it took about two months until I could sit down without awkwardly realizing that my hand was moving in that direction.
Another peculiarity I have soon noticed is that my labia minora tend to slightly stick together and seal everything while I have my pants on (I believe they are meant to do exactly that), and when I sit down it takes a few seconds until they open enough to not obstruct my urethra opening. Learning to wait those few seconds without actively thinking about it took me about the same time.
So I would say that two or three months after SRS I had reached that point.

I first found standing to be a problem due to splashing on my trousers, getting the last spurt after tucking it back in my trousers, and having frequent difficulty with completely emptying my bladder.  One day (in 1997) I decided to try sitting and I never stood again under any circumstances.  It only took a couple times before it became automatic and I always looked for a place to sit or squat.  Standing was no longer a consideration under any circumstances. It would not be a problem for me if I didn't have that thing.

I'm still pre-op, and I've been sitting to pee for a very long time; standing to pee falls under the category of *In case of emergency, break glass* 

I've never stood to pee except in the forest.   That's a challenge nowadays.   

It took me a while to remember that there was nothing to tuck when I pulled my panties back up.   Two years later, I still attempt to tuck that non-existent flesh on occasion.  It's good for an inward smile when I realize my mistake.

Everyone should sit to pee-female/male whether cis or trans.It makes bathrooms much less smelly!.Ihate it when male friends spray all over the floor and bowl when they visit.Eeewwww..

GOOD POINT!  I totally agree with you.  Be courteous toward others when you are in their houses even though you aren't when at home.

About 6 weeks or so before it became normal. I did pee standing until the very last day before surgery. But that was just practical as I didn't want to squat public toilets.

But still, the stream isn't every even. I might "need" another corrective surgery as most of the time, the urine wants to flow/leaks towards the anus, which results in an irritated feeling...
