i'm wondering if i should have the talk with my therapist again or should i just wait a little longer. i can save about a hundred a month so by september because in august i can save a little close to 200 i would save enough to kickstart since the first time is always the most expensive. any thoughts?

You need to consider your needs and and priorities in relation to your transition and life because only you know if you need to see the therapist again or not or if you need because your going after letters for either HRT, SRS or some other procedure. Good luck and hugs

Agree with Mariah. I only saw a therapist to get a referral for surgery. I didn't need one for hormones. But that might be different in your area, so I would personally sit down and make an ideal timeline for your transition and then look up local resources to see if you can make that happen with or without a therapist.

If you need one for general mental health reasons, then you should make it a priority.

i do understand. a year ago it was all about a letter but i went off course and dealt with other issues instead so i was considering having the talk again or waiting. i want to but idk if i'm ready but if i dont i'd regret not doing so. its all because i was finally able to get work and save well a lot of money a month. talk about a real head scratcher. i'm in no means in a rush because if i have to wait another year, i will but i just dont wanna regret my decision because its been an on and off thing and i feel as if i'm slipping

Just remember that getting scheduled in with Endo's and Surgeons takes time since often they are booked out a ways. So if your wanting something done on a particular time that I thought you should know that for future reference.

actually there isnt an endo that does hormones around my area anymore so i'm thinking of going to NY. i'm over the age for the HOTT program at the Callen-Lorde center but with my primary on board with whatever my choice is, my therapist there for me whenever i need his help and my mother who is somewhat still apprehensive but support, it's a lot less stress full and a lot less time i have to wait but i have a tendency to over time or under time things so what i can do to help the process a little faster than i'm willing to but if i have to wait, i will. oh as far as timeline goes, I have no specific time. I just gave that as a set time when I will have enough funds available so I could start the process.
