I had a lot of anxiety pre-T, mostly related to social situations. I wasn't passing consistently (mostly due to my voice), so I was uncomfortable being in a position where I'd have to speak to anyone. It basically turned me into a hermit outside of work. I found that activities where I could be myself that didn't require any kind of in person or speaking interaction helped take my mind off things - mostly video games.

Meditation works for me. I use a program called "Wild Divine ONline" Its a biofeedback game where you learn to control your breathing and anxiety, also to bring your energy up. The setup is a little expensive because there are biofeedback sensors you have to get for your fingers, (they are attached to the computer and measure perspiration, heatbeat etc.) It takes a little practice, but its fun. Instead of the old systems where a blaring noise comes out and will only go away when you relax, (sure I relax with a screaming whine in my ears!). Anyway, if you want to check out the site its just Wild Divine online.com

wheat thins are delicious

I've had anxiety problems my whole life, and was diagnosed in my early 20s with two anxiety disorders.  It wasn't until then that I learned coping mechanisms other than self harming ones: hair pulling (I had to get my hair cut all off when I was in kindergarten, and even developed a bald spot in high school one year from that), skin picking, I gave myself nose bleeds a lot in kindergarten.  Breathing techniques helped me a lot.  At the time of my diagnosis I was experiencing a lot of deja vu type of feelings like I had dreamed or lived what was happening, which I learned was depersonalization and still do experience that sometimes when I'm under high amounts of stress.  What helps me then is to remind myself that what is happening is happening for the first time and couple that with breathing techniques.

The mind is an incredibly powerful thing for both good and bad. Its not easy to overcome a long standing problem like anxiety. I hate it when people tell me I can get rid of my migraines by telling myself I have control over them. Unless someone has gone through a traumatic incident or has a problem such as chronic anxiety, I don't think they can completely understand how overwhelming they can be.

Hang in there!
