Has anyone had a revision made to their innitial phalloplasty in their fifties? I'm very greatful for the plastic surgeon I had trying to help me even though I was his first one, but there are a couple of simple revisions i would like to get done.

My scrotal sacs were never combined into one, and the skin was never stretched to make a proper scrotal sac. i"m also fairly sure the implants are not adult sized.  The other revision would be to give the penis some substance. Right now it is basically a hollow skin tube.

I know revisions can be done, but just don't know if age if a factor in outcome of the surgery or danger.

I doubt it, since I know guys who are getting phallos and metas (first time) over 40 or even in their 50s. Getting a surgeon's opinion wouldn't be bad here.

Thanks. YOu wouldn't happen to know if the surgeon could code the surgery in  my insurance so it could be covered? (since everything I have is legally changed to male, would it still be technically a transgender surgery?

Surgery of any type, at any age, is always a risk...  But that does not mean it cannot be done.  I think you would want to weigh the possible risks with the probable benefits before embarking on that journey.  I might suggest getting a couple of surgical consults and see if you feel comfortable with what they might be able to do for you in terms of procedure as well as costs/coding/etc.   

No, that's one of those individual insurance things. More insurances are covering trans surgeries. It might be possible to cover it otherwise, but have no idea.

Thanks guys. I look into some surgeons and see if they are willing to cover those surgeries.
