About Me
Hello, my name is Lucas Blankenship, you can call me MentalCookie or just Cookie if you so choose. I am 22 years old, 5'9" tall, and weigh 135 lbs. I have green eyes, with medium length, fluffy, and blond color hair. My personality has been described as shy, timid, incredibly smart, usually cheerful and a bit odd.
-
I have the body of a male and the mind of a female, a discrepancy that has nearly destroyed my life on several occasions. These feelings have been present in my life as far back as I can remember getting ever more intense as life goes on.

Why I Am Joining
As stated above, I have the body of a male and the mind of a female. I would give and do anything to become truly female. The fact that my body does not match my mind has destroyed me emotionally many times and its getting worse. I not only come to this site for help and guidance, but as a safe zone for when I need it.

Quick Biography
I was born on March 1, 1993 to a very poor and uncaring family. At age 5, I was adopted by a family who treated me as if I was a blood relative and went on to live a fairly unique life full of adventure.
-
I graduated high school with high grades and GPA, after which, I went to college to pursue my dream of becoming an architect. Unfortunately, that ended quickly and horribly with me dropping out. This lead me on a journey to find my true calling, which ended up being "Computer Technology". I went to technical school soon after and earned my CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and my Microcomputer Specialist Diploma.
-
I recently moved out of my parents house after this where I am currently looking for a job.

Things to Know

  • I have ADHD Type 6, Bipolar, and Asperger Syndrome. So please, don't make jokes about disabilities... it hurts my feelings. I am 100% passive with this being my only breaking point. Unless what you're saying is the truth at which point I will probably agree with you. :)
  • Amongst other things, I enjoy; Computer Technology, Piano(Pianist 15+ years), cooking(I have been a pescatarian for about 1.5 years), and fashion.
  • I am horrible at verbal communication and find it extremely difficult to explain my emotions, ideas, and feelings, which usually get "lost in translation". But, were my voice fails me, my words prevail. The best way I can explain it is, when I write, it feels like finally learning to speak the native language of a country after many years of needing a translator. So, instead of talking about my feelings like most people do, I write about them.

I have a question, I write a journal detailing the true events of my life and my struggles with "Gender Dysphoria". I would like to share it with you. Can I share it and where can I post it?

In conclusion, I will say that I am looking forward to spending time in this community and can't wait for the adventure.

Welcome! I have Asperger's as well and can totally relate to you on the verbal communication and writing thing. I don't feel I'm great at communicating myself in any form, but I definitely agree that writing is easier. Having more time to think about what I'm going to say and how to say it and also being able to look over what I'm writing or typing and change it makes it SO much easier to communicate clearly. I'm also a pianist and a pescatarian, so it seems we have a few things in common!

Computer Technology sounds interesting, as well. When I was younger, I wanted to go to college for computer science after I graduated high school and then get a job in the development of AI. I ended up changing my mind and pursuing linguistics (and now cognitive science as well) instead, but I still find computer stuff to be interesting. My favorite course that I'm taking this semester is actually a Java programming course.

Hello Cookie. I'm glad you found the forum and I hope it helps fulfill your needs. I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as jokes about disabilities. A lot of us are sensitive to that.

Like you, I played piano, but only for 7 years. Everyplace i went required a recital which meant wearing a dress, so I quit. You must be pretty good after fifteen years!

Writing things down is easier for me as well, though more because I tend to be an introvert and what I say doesn't always come out well. Writing gives you a chance to think, change your statements and often is emotionally easier than face to face. You do write well by the way.

Working with computers is a good choice. You know there will always be jobs, they aren't going to go away and it gives you something new to learn all the time. I admire anyone who is proficient in computers. I think I'm classified as computer illiterate when it comes to knowing how to do much without help.

Welcome, and i hope you stay.
