Well , good personal news for me.  The doctors office of the surgeon that I'm thinking about just emailed me and said I can use Medicare and a Medicare supplemental insurance  I just got today to pay for the operation if I decide to go ahead. Yippi

well, they told me that Medicare would take care of 80% , but they would do it with out a supplemental because they couldn't estimate all the other costs that could happen such as the hospital fees, The surgeon they knew the 80% , but not all the others. I didn't think I could afford the supplemental , but its not bad.

yea, the Medicare is like the other insurance companies with the 80-20. It will definitely help others.

Indeed, they are. I had a feeling that was the case because I have a relative who is on Medicare with supplemental and all of sudden was referred to a particular surgeon for SRS that that they are aligned with. She has been stuck like so many here because no one excepted it before.

Woo! Congrats Steph :D

Just curious, since you said medicare, I'm assuming you are seeing a surgeon from Australia? I'm also starting to look into GRS and I have medicare as well so I'm just a little curious.

I wish then I could party with all the Aussie's  , but as fate would have it I'm seeing a surgeon in Chicago.
