I'm sure this has been discussed before, and for that I apologize.

But I was wondering what the differences were between oral and injectable estrogen.
If you want to give me anecdotal accounts of the differing effects, that's cool, but I'm primarily concerned with the chemical differences between the two.



And, for that matter, when should you test your levels on injections? Halfway through the week following your shot?

Whether by injection or oral, bio-identical estradiol is the same, 17-beta estradiol, the active estrogenic component. If estradiol cypionate is taken as injection, then the active estrogenic components could perhaps be two, 17-beta estradiol and estradiol cypionate, perhaps accounting for this solution's potency.

I have better results on injections but this may vary from one person to another person. My doctors aren't concerned about levels, don't believe in "ideal levels".  Levels fluctuate, more so on injectables unless pills taken sublingually. Typical is to take lowest levels, therefore day before injection. 

To that end, I suppose because it's related - is it standard practice to start you with sublingual estrogen and then move on to injectables later? I've been on HRT for about 2 weeks now. My next appointment with my endo is on May 11th to check my levels and such. I just really hate needles (of course I'd suck it up for transitioning) and I would really like to keep using sublingual doses.
