Sleeves, Straps, or strapless?

So, out of curiosity, I was wondering what kinds of dresses everyone likes wearing. I personally prefer strapless, halter, and sleeves. I'm only one girl though, what is your opinion on the matter? Also, sneakers with stockings/hose and a dress. Yay or nay?

I never liked wearing strapless anything. I'm always afraid of it slipping down. >_<

I really like halter tops because I like the feeling of having the fresh air and a nice breeze on my skin (except the time I made a mistake of spending too long outdoors in a halter top on a sunny day - ended up with sunburn all across my upper back!). I don't own any halter dresses or tops at the moment (I had a few when I was younger but outgrew them :( ) but would like to buy some this summer.

I also like short-sleeved dresses and ones with straps if they actually stay on my shoulders (I have narrow shoulders; finding anything with straps that don't slip down has always been a bit of a hassle). I currently own two dresses with straps (same style, different colors); I really like them but have to keep the straps tied together at the back just to keep them from slipping off my shoulders.

I have exactly the opposite problem with straps, my shoulders are fairly large, so I always end up snapping them  :(

I like halter tops quite a bit as well. I don't own any right now, because I used to think getting rid of my wardrobe would keep me from wanting to dress up. How wrong, and foolish I was.

Long sleeves are always flattering especially for girls with large shoulders. Plus makes your siholette more feminine. I hate baby tee's. Short sleeve is ok if it hits no more than 3 inches above elbow. Quarter sleeves are like Kitten Heels, a no no!

All;
I have a gorgeous pink dress that's strapless so shows my shoulders and bare arms. Its also fully lined with an integral satin slip and is A Line thus falling from the bust line. It has a wide belt, so I normally have that just under my bust. One problem though is despite it having a formed bust line, I really need some support for my 42B (44A) breasts. And I went out looking very hard for strapless bras that would nevertheless support my breasts despite not having straps.

Recently in London, I discovered a very nice two piece set (size 42B) at Marks & Spencer.
See: http://www.marksandspencer.com/2-pack-lace-wing-non-padded-strapless-bras-b-d/p/p22372667.
The straps are removable but can also be worn in a halter style. The colours are white and black with lace trimming.

The really good thing is that the bras accentuates my cleavage. But of course its imperative that you have your underarms waxed or shaved and of course hair free arms..

Well I have cute strap dress in my avatar, I was at a cocktail party.

I gotta disagree with you about the sneakers,  Cindy, I feel like the right pair of converse can compliment any outfit well. Nicolegn7, I love long sleeve dresses, and despise kitten heels... lol. Judith, I keep my underarms smooth, I have a grey French Connection strapless dress, that I love to wear.  It can be a hassle keeping it up at times, not having breasts of my own... Yet.

Spot on! Age is nothing but a number, the only thing that matters, is that you feel beautiful. You are in my opinion =)

I love sleeveless and/or strappy dresses and tops.  Hey, a girl's gotta show off her gorgeous tattoos!  I am very proud of both of my half-sleeve tattoos.

Sneakers, not so much.  I usually wear moccasins and knee socks when I'm competing in a serious pool match, otherwise you'll typically find me wobbling around on 2 to 4 inch heels.

I agree, a girl does need to show off her tattoos. I prefer heels, and flats, but I also like the look of some sneakers with certain outfits.

Sneakers with dress are perfect if you are 15 years old or younger. All stars go perfect with leggings or skinny jeans, but it's just silly to see someone wearing them with elegant dress... the only people I can think of pulling it off (remotely) are some hipster girls (usually guilty of many other fashion crimes at the same time..)

By all means, wear sneakers and dresses, if that's what you like to wear! :)

Here in my country, sneakers with dress is a trend among young girls.

A lot of ladies at their 20s here wear a kind of formal dress with sneakers.

I would fall into that age group, and I think her outfit is super cute!

I like Lily Allen's prom dress with trainers look from a couple years back. It's better suited for shorter girls though.

Sporty is having a fashion moment so it's a good time to be dressing down formalwear and dressing up casual.

Yes. Sneakers are a trend in other countries since 2010, too.

I have a lovely strapless dress which has this annoying tendency to slip down. I almost always wear it with a shrug.

That's the only strapless dress I have.  All others are sleeved.
