HI Mikkayle, welcome to Susan's. Have you tried checking out the Sex reassignment forum. You might find your answer in there. Also this post might have better success there too. If you like I can move it their so you have a better chance at getting a response from someone. I look forward to seeing you around the site. Good luck and Hugs

I had GRS with Brassard and am willing to answer questions?

I got prompt replies to emails, but their office seemed disorganized in other ways to me - so you probably aren't being ignored.

About a month ago, I sent them an email requesting an info packet and they sent it to me the next day.  From what I hear, they can be a little disorganized, so if you are waiting on an info packet and it's been a couple of weeks it probably wouldn't hurt to send them another email.

Maby I sent the mail to wrong adress? Are they still using info@grsmontreal.com as thier email adress? Or do they have other one? I also have sent msg on thier fb page..

That's the email address I've been using to correspond with them.

Uhh i did call them, and some lady anserwed me about the cost and said that it was normal that they didnt anserw it between 2 weeks. I tried to talk with her with my broken english, it was terrible ! :((( My face went all red when i tried to spell my name.. :/ I re-sented my mail so i will give it another month, if not i will try to call them again.

Dr. Brassard is one of the best if not THE best GRS surges (I am not being bias, I will mention his weakness in a minute). His results are fantastic and surgery is usually easy and complication free. BUT the thing he has going for him negatively is the staff/communication. The staff aren't mean what so ever but they aren't exactly friendly either. I blame it on the French/Montreal culture? Plus they do things so old school still regarding money and paperwork and take SO LONG to get back to you, constantly confuse or loose your information and don't keep you up to date. It can be very confusing!
Got my surgery in my early 20's, now in my mid 20's living stealth

Okay so this is kinda odd, but They anserwed my mail (which I have sent from other email) the next day, in this one i have asked simple question compaird to the other mail.. I had a question to the surgeon because i have phimosis (the head of the penis is glued to foreskin).. In the other mail which i have sent i asked alot of questions, post-op functioning, abillity to orgasm etc and it seems they have ignored it! I really wanted to get the op with dr Brassard, but now im feeling weird about the fact theyre ignoring thier "client" :/

Also if u had srs and u had same problem as mine (this case of phimosis), please say if it was a no no to getting srs.
thanks guys for all anserws :)

Have you checked all your mailbox folders ?
Sometimes a mail gets into the spam folder, which may not be fetched by the email program.

It might be possible to use the web interface of the email provider, log in and manually check all folders.

they could have ignored it because they don't know but that isn't a good move for new clients. they just answer the phones and make the appointments. a lot of that stuff could also depend on the individual. i had my top surgery with dr. belanger and they sent me emails post op when i got home to make sure i was okay. THEY asked the medical questions (it was the nurses who took care of me at the house and dr. belanger/brassard (according to the email) who wanted to know how i was doing post-op) but as far as all the other stuff like making appointments, etc. the email you provided further up worked and they seemed knowledgeable when it came to that specific stuff like sending out packages, appointments, etc. it didn't take long (a few days) to get my questions answered when it came to questions about all the paper work/scheduling, etc.

Ah, reminds me of my communications with their office.   ::)
Be persistent (and nice) and they will eventually answer them.

I know it's frustrating but be persistent and friendly and you'll eventually get your answers.  When I spoke with them before it took awhile because the Doctor must respond to many of the questions personally and he is very busy.  For me it was worth the wait because they referred me to another surgeon due to a special side-issue I have complicating my FFS.  I'm very happy with the other surgeon and relieved that my surgery will be handled properly.

If Brassard is high on your list of candidates then go ahead and set up a consultation.  That way you'll have his full and immediate attention and all of your questions will be answered.  (Best to go in person to Montreal if practical.)  I've heard overwhelmingly good things about him and the typical results so it's definitely worth your time.  If I decide to go ahead with SRS myself I am pretty well set on going with his services.

Yea im staying patient and nice, I guess its canadian thing to anserw in this way :P. Btw guys, do u know where I can see Dr.Brassard srs results, or maby anyone is willing to talk about thier expirence? + Anyone knows if after 3 month opst op i will be able to go back to my school?

Jenna Marie

They do tend to be a little bad at email. It's frustrating as heck, and I can't understand it, since you'd think a world-class surgeon would want a front office that doesn't scare off customers!

Anyway, I'm happy to answer anything you want to know (but I'm a few years post-op and this is just my private parts now, so I'd rather not share pictures of them online). I did uncomfortably go back to work at a desk job at 4 weeks post-op, I think I would have been perfectly fine if I'd taken one more week. You're younger, so if school isn't too much more demanding, I'd think you'd be well healed and back to normal by 3 months.

edit to add : I dug up a link to my more thorough review of Brassard. https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,182064.msg1614537.html#msg1614537

Jenna, im tottaly understanding that people dont want to show thier private parts! But if someone would be okay with showing them for medical purposes, or knows any links to  pages which shows the results it would be amazing. The surgery outcome is kinda a big deal + im curious how does its look like (i hope it doest sound wrong).. But sharing about the expirence itself is good enought for me, so thanks Jenna for this link :)
