Today, I had to go get my hair cut prior to a job interview. At first, I was alright with it. Straightened it up real nice and neat, walked into the interview feeling confident and attractive.

But now, I don't recognize the person in the mirror. I try to check my own reflection and all I can see is some strange guy looking back at me, matching my every move. I feel disgusting, disconnected, trapped, all over again. This is exactly how I felt before I came out...
To strive to reach the apex of evolution is folly, for to achieve the pinnacle is to birth a god.

When the Stryker fires, all turn to dust in its wake.

I know how you feel. When I first came out to myself I didn't recognize the guy in the mirror either. I still don't, but I do see "her." I see myself; Samantha, but I see her indide this ugly shell. Now, what I look in the mirror, I see a work in progress.

You'll be fine, hun.

Sorry to hear that you had to cut. I bet, I would feel trapped to if I had to do something that is the opposite of who I am. Hugs

Hey thats sad and very soul destroying...

When I look in the mirror now, I try to look past who's there, but picture me with the hairlines I love, the face has mellowed nicely, apart from a bit of brow issue...

Yeah FB can be harsh!

I really feel for you babe. Pre transition when I got haircuts it was agony.

Now if I look back at my old guy pics I really don't recognize him.

Hugs and hope you feel better. I hate cutting my hair so if I go on a job interview, I plan on doing a single ponytail down the back. Looks professional and no hair cutting :)

Sorry you had to cut your hair, but hopefully your next employer will be more flexible than your last one, and you can grow it out again. Best wishes...
