I don't really know what to do right now. I lost my job a couple weeks ago, have no money to get electro. I still live at home and seems like one of my parents is always at home, so I'm always in man drag and have difficult time with makeup, and finding a good place to practice voice. I don't have money for therapy or to get on HRT at the nearest informed consent clinic which is in Chicago. I don't when i'll get another job and even if I do it will be several weeks before I can start therapy, electro, and HRT. Making matters even worse, my parents seem to be clueless, which means either they know and are pretending to be clueless, my transition is going so badly that I haven't been asked any questions (except about my hair, which isn't even that long) because they really can't see a difference yet, or I am such a closet case with my parents (came out to two friends last week) that I will never have the courage to come out to them. My weight is back up again and feeling frustrated and depressed like I was last fall.

Ms Grace

These kind of hurdles aren't uncommon, a whole lot of things seem to just dump on you at once, it is overwhelming and there appears to be no solution or way out. All you can really do is take each day at a time, prioritise and find solutions. It seems that getting another job is the top priority, without it many other things do not happen. I know getting a job isn't something you can just pluck off a tree (currently been looking three months myself) but I hope at least you are able to put as much effort into nailing a job as possible. Then some of those other issues can be more practicably dealt with. Hopefully it won't be long and you'll be on your way! :)

Sometimes parents really are clueless. Especially if they have never heard of or had any experience with a transgender.
They may have noticed that you are different, but parents, like the rest of us, are good at rationalizing what they see. When i came out to my parents, my mother told me that they just thought that was the way i was.

When the time is right, you will know.
