rain, some wind for the next several days. Been seeing rain bands go by all day today. Rain, sun, rain, sun, etc.

I'm still hoping for a mild year due to el nino.

Sorry you got burned. It happens I'm afraid *hugs*  I've had it happen so much that I dont even bother trying to make or keep friends. the last one cut my heart pretty deep.

I have had a hell of a two weeks. Most of it is work related. I'm not cut out to be a social worker. I have the heart, the compassion, the empathy...it has been my strength but it has also ended up being too much for me I guess. The child abuse and the effects it has on these kids is too much for me, it's making me wonder how I can even live in a world where stuff like this happens. I feel like I've seen too much.

I look like hell and I feel like hell. Let a friend down today because I couldn't even get out of bed. I also was an idiot and gave up my weekend. I had a nice long one, but others got burned out and no one could cover their shifts so I took them and now my 4 day weekend has become 1 day off.

Being a social worker is a really tough job.  I worked for the adult mental health service for eight years and while I loved my job it ultimately broke my health and I had to take early retirement.  You're right we get to see too much and it wears us down.  I didn't have to deal with child abuse, but working in Triage like I did suicide was always a major stressor.
The advice we were given as mental health staff was that if we didn't look after ourselves we couldn't look after others, but more often than not the clinic staff I worked with looked as badly stressed out as the clients/patients we were trying to help.

My classmates keep calling and asking me for advice, help and information regarding trucking. It's like they think I have all the answers and 30 yrs experience. I'm still a rookie, they were in my class with me. And that's why we have trainers. Why call me?

Thought 1: I really hope i can make friends here ^^

Thought 2: i found a dog today on the streets and i soo am in love with him. When the owners get him back ill be a bit Hurt. Maybe a bit selfish to say but i hope i can keep this sweety.
