Thank you so much ladies. I had a call from my manager and the HR director yesterday after the town hall and they basically told me that the train has left the station ;-) it's done. FYI, I have been off work since last Friday while the announcements were happening.

According to them, it went very well and no questions were asked while the announcement was being made. In short, we were all happy and im glad this step is over.  :-)

Again, my utmost appreciation to this community. Without you ladies, I can never do it.

Love,

April

Good Morning/Evening Beautiful People,

I just want to share with you all that as I am typing this milestone, Senior Management at work are being told about my transition followed by a town hall this Monday and Tuesday to inform everyone about the correct guidelines dealing with me. I cannot help but to feel emotional about this as this is the last step of getting my life aligned in all aspects socially.

I could not have done this without the support and help of this community. Your shares, experiences of triumph and challenges completely made me muster the courage to do it.

For that I am truly grateful. It does get better :)

Love you all!

April

Sorry for being late to this  :-*

That's Wonderful news April... so elated for you

Congrats April!!

I don't think I will get near as much attention to the issues at work as you did.  I work in government and there was already an individual who transitioned at my work site a few years ago so everyone has already been through the educational process.  We are moving to a new building next month and so I will transition fully at that time.

Hugs girl!!!!

Quick update, today was my first day back to work after the announcement. It was nerve wracking!!!  I was so anxious as soon as I got into the office. However, everyone for some reason was extra friendly to me :) YAY. I even had a guy open a door for me LOL and what's weird is that this guy who I have a major crush on - even said Hi to me with a huge smile on his face. I gave him just a tiny bit of smile and continued conversing with some of my girlfriends at work.

All in all, it was a very good day. Unfortunately, I was told by my friends at work that there were two middle aged women who expressed their discomfort with me using the womens washroom (so predictable). They were basically told if you aren't comfortable using the washroom - you can go somewhere else to do your business.

A few of my girl friends at work will have a washroom date with me tomorrow. They will give me the full red carpet treatment using the women's loo for the first time haha.

Anyways, good night ladies.

Much Love,

April

Hi  carmenkate

I am glad things went well .after the first few days and things get back to normal You will settle into your new routine and if You are anything like Me find Working as yourself to be so much better. Just be the person You have always been inside and enjoy it .As to the two women that are being funny it's their problem not yours as long as the majority of Woman accept You that's all that matters

Toni
The girl inside is just as important expecially to Yourself :)
