So I have my first HRT appointment Monday. I really excited but nervous at the same time, I think just because I don't know what happens during it, like do doctors actually give hormones on the first appointment, I have a letter from my therapist saying I should get hormones but will I have to talk to the doctor about why I want them or that I've always wanted to be a girl? Im shore it will be fine but I'm just curious. Any help you can give will be great, thanks!

Congrats on the appointment it depends. Often you may leave with a script, but generally at least blood work will be done so your doctor has baseline levels and makes sure you don't have any other issues that could be a problem while on HRT. Amazing how the fear of the unknown gets you, but relax and enjoy. I felt the same way going into my first appointment although I had a good idea as to what would happen. Good luck and hugs

I had 3 appointments before I got hrt. First one we just talked about hrt and the effects and risks. Second appointment they drew blood and filled out a consent form pretty much just saying I know what I'm getting myself into. Then the third appointment  I got my script.  But yea it all depends on your state and Dr.
