Yesterday was the first day I've really seen the effect that nine months of hormones have had on me. I went to see my therapist and decided I wasn't going to dress androgonously as I normally do. I had on a padded cami underneath a woman's Firefly T shirt and women's jeans on. My hair was down and I had one CZ earring in each ear. I was stunned when I looked in the mirror because there was nothing male there. My face is rounder, I'm slender, I have a slender waist and more pronounced hips and breast growth that gets harder to conceal. I wasn't concealing it yesterday. I think if I had put on makeup it would have just put the cherry on top of the cake but given now my complexion has changed I loooked like any woman out without makeup. The only thing stopping me from socially transitioning now is my voice. If I could get the voice surgery I would do it and transition now. I don't pass as male anymore unless I talk and even then I've had people still ma'am me.

I was gobsmacked but in a very happy way. I think that may have been the happiest I can remember being, looking in the mirror yesterday.

I had a guy smile at me and hold the door as I was leaving my apartment building.

Hormones? Pfffft...it was really the Firefly t-shirt that did it.    Seriously though, congrats!  Changing the filter though which we see ourselves is a gigantic step.

It's nice to see a fellow browncoat in this corner of the 'verse.

I'm seriously thinking of taking a day off from work so I can show up to therapy in a dress.

I usually show up in jeans and a femme top.

But then I remember I'm going full time soon, so I won't have to take a day off.

Congratulations with your transition so far!  Sounds like you're making real progress when you can look at yourself in the mirror and really see the girl that's always been there on the inside. 

The only boy clothes I wear to work now are my shirts!  Replacing all my boy slacks with girl slacks as soon as I can.  The fitted look and feel is just A-MA-ZING! (sing song voice)

Anywho, congrats again.

That's awesome.
I'm starting to notice the same thing myself. I think my current hair arrangement (different part and temporarily a more boring color), my first laser hair removal session, my newly pierced ears(just under 24 hours ago), and 5 months of HRT are really starting to pay off. I love looking in the mirror and watch as this beautiful girl emerges. I flirt with myself all the time. Its really quite bizarre.

First time we see ourselves as ourselves, is always a memorable day! Congrats!
