New York State Is Pushing Back On Health Care Discrimination Against Transgender People

"The push will provide increased protections for transgender people receiving health care services, and aims to help close the health care gap that exists between trans and cisgender populations. A 2011 survey found that 24 percent of transgender people have been denied equal treatment in a doctor's office or hospital, the Attorney General's office pointed out in a press release."
