I agree with the premise of the article - that isolating a trans prisoner is double punishment, but it's a step up from what happens most of the time, where women are thrown in with the men.

I think this is a difficult issue to resolve. Trans women clearly belong with women, but it is not always obvious when a male-bodied prisoner can be classified as a trans woman.
