I'm wishing they had sentenced that bomber kid to life in prison instead of death. Just seems that he's getting the easy way out  and this will still drag on due to the appeals process. At least if he were in a super max for the rest of his life, it would be much harder on him and actually seem like real punishment.

I'm glad he got death. This wasn't an act of rage triggered by some event, it was carefully planned out. May his victims rest in peace and the people he hurt put their lives back together.

This guy was given refuge in our country and showed his gratitude by carrying out a terrorist attack which murdered and maimed innocent people at a festive annual event

I think they should make a televised event of it complete with BBQ parties and the whole bit

I think they should build a gallows on the back of a flat bed truck and drive it down the street in slow procession then park it at the finish line where the bombings took place, string him up and get it done and over with

Might cause a few would be terrorists to think twice about messing with us in the future

But should we be as barbaric as those who seek to terrorize us?   And these are the same kind of people that will strap on a bomb and blow themselves up if it would harm those they hate, trying to dissuade them with the risk of death isn't apt to deter too many of them. Also, even as his age, he will be more apt to die on death row of natural causes. Of all the people the feds have put on death row in the last 30 odd years, only three have actually been put to death, there is a long line ahead of him and with the shortage of the drugs needed for lethal injection, its a long shot on whether it will ever really happen.

My view is also that death is the easy way for people like that, its not that much of a punishment for them. They die a quick painless death if it ever takes place. I'm more of a fan of making them sit in their little cells all day and ponder what their life has become because they took so many innocent lives and made others suffer. So them actually suffering is a better punishment than giving them what they want.

I'm watching Gran Torino right now. Not a western, but a great Eastwood flick.

And no need to apologize for whatever you believe, I just gave my own look of it in return.   :)

Seems extreme but...

I actually did say terminator to my mom originally, because I briefly forgot the terminology.

Have I close the door ?
Argh too many questions in my little brain !
Oh and I'm not really smart btw, "Smart Alex" is a song from The Adicts ^_^

Went weekend cycling today and yesterday, that's when all the business types come out with their $5000 Cervélo bikes ...

There is something deeply satisfying in showing up on an every day commuter bike wearing pink and purple and egging them on until they decide to fake a mechanical issue rather than being beaten by a girl :D

Yes, the new stuff is awesome.   I saw them play last month.  I especially liked "M*****f******".

I'm thinking that I'm going to get s***faced with my parents when they get here in a few minutes.

An interesting Keeping up with the Kardashians tonight. How the family is dealing with Bruce's coming out and going forward with living as a woman.

I am convinced that with a little bit of hard work and dedication, that I could jog 1/4 of a mile (one lap around a track that you have to go around 4 times to make a mile) without stopping while listening to military to cadences.  I would just have to stay as close to the inside of the track as possible.

I got rid of a creepy guy in a priceless way.

Creep: "Hey lady, I have a bunch of designer handbags for sale in my trunk for cheap.   Vuitton, Kors, Coach... Copies, of course."

Me: *holds up real Vuitton bag and rolls eyes*

Creep: *makes hasty exit*

For once, I'm actually keeping up with the Kardashians, lol.  I don't really know why they are famous.

Robert Kardashian was one of OJ's lawyers in his trial and later died, also knew Jenner back then too, then Kris, Robert's widow, married Bruce who was already famous for being a decathlon athlete from the Olympics. So throw in some notoriety, a bit of showmanship, a few cups of reality television and a few tablespoons of greedy network that would sell anyone's mother down the river for a buck and waalaa, you have it!

oh and kevin bacon is probably involved somehow...
