To my certain knowledge; one elder-transitioner, briefly met in the waiting area at a hospital in 1979.

Of course, I may have encountered several {or many} without realising it.......as so many girls like myself, spend years 'invisibly' living their lives.

Maybe a 100 or so in Hollywood,CA over a period of 20 years, known maybe 5 of those, kept in touch with one, but lost touch with her, she was my electrologist

I have met in real life someone who was on this forum, then I intentionally met a transwoman who sort of gave me initial "briefing" on how things are working here, then I met three transpeople in the local support group (which lasted for two sessions only because nobody would come) - one of them was nontransitioner, another was still under 18 and living with non-accepting parents, and the last one was being gate-keeped on HRT prescription.
Then I accidentaly met a girl in pharmacy where I came for estrogen (she was working there as assistant-pharmacist) - I clocked her but did not make that apparent, and she most probably understood why I was after E too - we exchanged chatter which more friendly than usual chat between clerk and client, smiled at each other and that was it. I never met her in that pharmacy again and hope that all is well in her life.
also met two persons who were not sure about themselves - just to give them some advice and encouragement (we met for a cup of coffee), but I never heard of them again so I am not very eager to jump on labeling them as trans.

There was another girl who was a beautician at a place by a bus stop I use to catch my bus to go to work. She would always say hi to me for some reason and I would reply in kind. Than I started seeing her at the bus stop I got off at to go to work. I worked in an area called Boys Town because the LGBT community lives there. We never met outside of those two places , but she was always very friendly and we'd talk a little. Maybe she saw something in me screaming transgender , I don't know.

Probably many more than I realise, since there will always be plenty of secretly trans people. There could be people working with me ....

Now that gets you wondering, doesn't it? :~]

I didn't include in person support group meetings in my selection. That would have easily put it over 10. I only included people I had contact with in day to day life, and that's 1.

personally, i only know and talk to 1.  i dont count the ones from the center i go to or it'd be alot higher

I dont know where all of you find everyone...i have met....zero. unfortunately, my industry has little exposure to anyone at work but cismales, and i dont get out much due to so much time slent at work, and then with the direct family. I also think being in rural utah certainly applies to not much likelihood of exposure...maybe i should get out more?

I've met 2 fellow Bristolian transmen who used to frequent this forum.
Due to being a bit of an activist on trans matters in this fine town i've lost count of the number of trans people i've met over the last year, i'd guestimate that i've met around 20 trans people in the last 12 months.

In conferences, support groups, and at the gender center I have met way over ten - as in hundreds.  That is real life rather than over the Internet so I voted more than ten.  For normal day to day living that drops to three I know about.  There would be more who are living stealth but I won't count them.

I know 30+ from the support group that I helped found a couple years ago. Slowly meeting more as members of the community here begin connecting together.

I only know of a couple. The lady who did my electrolysis transitioned in her 50's

Loads probably some I don't know about as well.It was the late 70s(78 I think) before I met another M2F

Only counting those I know from their own confirmation were trans (so not the two women who were very tall with facial hair and manly voices I've run across in public in the past few months, for example), perhaps a couple dozen. If we exclude those I met in Montreal, who are not exactly a fair representation of my daily life, maybe half that.

About 4-5 trans men and 8-9 trans women, I think. Of that, I'm close friends and meet up with 3 other trans women regularly.

I know only one which is Abby from on here.  I live in a small city but it turned out she's only half an hour way from me. Small world! There are a few others in my city but don't know them personally.

Surprisingly my three close best friends are trans along with myself and we talk and hangout all the time. LMAO!

Sorry I'm not the right orientation for this thread but I thought I'd chime in that I've met lots and lots and lots. I live in a city that is known to be a safe haven for trans people, but I also met a ton of mtf women when I lived in the south, mostly in Louisiana.

Most trans people I bumble into in real life are in normal situations like grocery stores or public transit or whatever and I don't know any safe and respectful way to say hi or give them props, so I just act like I didn't notice.

I have the luck to meet more than 10 other Transwomen, most of whom are quite amazing.  Most of the women that I have met are in the United Kingdom, in the United States or in Australia.

I occasionally get to the Alphabet Soup gathering in Melbourne (third Tuesday of the month), but its the amazing women that I have met since joining Susans that I always feel inspired by.

I want to give a special mention to Eva Marie and JillP in Ventura County and Studio City in California (and Jill's really wonderful wife Katherine), my girlfriend Breanne in Banning California , Ms Grace, & Catherine Sarah in Sydney and of course my dear fried Cindy in Adelaide. In the United Kingdom its Padma in Exeter, Tracey, Carol & Susan in Torquay, Mia in London, Jane in Bournemouth and many others.

Unfortunately despite spending a long weekend in Berlin I missed Lara Knuth, although I did get to go to the excellent club she recommended and unfortunately because of her work commitments I was'nt able to meet up with Jennygirl in the US.
