Today, HRC is proud to release a new trailer for the ABC Family documentary series "Becoming Us."

From Ryan Seacrest Productions comes ABC Family's new docu-series "Becoming Us." The series centers on a teenager named Ben who is learning to live with his dad becoming a woman. The series will follow Ben, his family and his friends as they support one another through this unexpected journey and navigate their new world with Charlie now living as Carly.

Can't get to the trailer from current computer. Show sounds interesting. Can anyone report on the trailer?

Thanks

The trailer was short. The series follows a family where the father is transitioning to female at the same time that her former daughter is transitioning to male. Looks like it might be a good series.

The son is cis.

It focuses on the cisgendered son of a transwoman who's girlfriend's parent is also transitioning. And that's the problem I have with it. From the other trailer I've seen, the show clearly has casted the teenaged son as the main focus. The other commercial was literally the son just complaining that 'bwuh, I feel so victimized because my daddy's leaving me"

I don't want to watch something that paints trans people on a burden to their family, I want to watch something that either celebrates us or focuses on the hardships we face.
Just kidding, I know where they are.

I am so excited to watch this, it seems like it will be rather good.

"The age of Socratic man is past: crown yourselves with ivy, grasp the thyrsus and do not be amazed if tigers and panthers lie down fawning at your feet. Now dare to be tragic men, for you will be redeemed. You shall join the Dionysiac procession from India to Greece! Gird yourselves for a hard battle, but have faith in the miracles of your god!"
